I recently visited Café Zwart located in Dam Square, Amsterdam, and my experience was, overall, average. Here's a breakdown of my thoughts:

Location (4/5): The cafe's prime location in Dam Square is undoubtedly a strong point. It offers a great spot for people-watching and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the city. However, due to its central location, it can get crowded, and finding a seat during peak hours might be challenging.

Ambiance (3/5): The interior of Café Zwart is cozy with a traditional Dutch feel. However, the seating arrangements are quite cramped, making it less comfortable during busy hours. The noise level can also be high, affecting the overall ambiance.

It makes me sad when businesses rely on their location, and just forget EVERYTHING else.If we could rate this place with a 'zero', we would! We were very often guests to Cafe Zwart during our 2-week-stay (sometimes even twice a day), due to its convenient location. It was because of this, that we didn't pay much attention to the high prices & rude service. On our very last day though, my partner had just ordered drinks for us, and I came a bit later holding some churros (spanish baked goods), that I had previously bought during our walk. The waitress (short, long hair, asian) came and told me that I cannot sit there, with 'this' on my hand!! I was stunned; it was pouring rain at the moment & she offered us no other solution whatsoever, instead she turned to my partner and said 'Well, you can stay'. I asked her if she could at least make my coffee 'to go' instead, and we asked for the check (my partner hadn't even tasted his beer)! At which point she became mad, and yelled to my partner, 'well I told you you can stay, but you want to go anyway, so whatever!'. In all my life, I haven't experienced such a rude service!
