09-02-2024 Food: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Sfeer: 4 stars Once again I took the gamble after last time and went to FuLu again for my son's birthday. And this time the food was delicious as always! We had cucumber with garlic, Tippan shrimp in BBQ sauce, Stone chicken with Bali sauce, Shredded cabbage, white rice, chrysanthemum tea and a can of sweetened black tea. Everything was delicious. Top!! The only point of criticism was the service. We had a reservation at 9:00 PM. When we arrived there was a line of people who had made reservations and those who had not. No one from the wait staff was seen in 20 minutes. The door to the dining room was closed, but I eventually stepped inside as none of the staff was willing to seat people with reservations.
25-02-2023 Food: 3 stars Service: 1 star Sfeer: 4 stars We went to FuLu again. What's going on with FuLu??? Where I was almost lyrical in the past, it was now really terrible!!!! How can a restaurant fall off its pedestal like that. Food mediocre, service simply bad, even kind of rude. First, there was a long dark hair in my food. Then it took over!!! 20 minutes before my stew, which is/should be ready already, was served again. In the meantime nothing, no waitress seen. Hospitality at its worst. if it were up to me we would have gone. But my dining companion has no extensive catering experience so she was a bit milder. Her food had of course become completely cold, including the rice. Proactive attitude?? Nope, nothing at all. After 20 minutes the waitress wanted to put the dish on the table and leave. Hola, we're dining together so we had to indicate that her dish needed to be warmed up and that she could really bring new warm rice. So that happened Finally, the oxtail was barely edible. Ok, Chinese like the meat a bit more tough than the Dutch. However, this was a matter of incorrect preparation. The meat was tough, the connective tissue had not "melted away" so the meat was still completely attached to the bone. You couldn't get it off, not even with a fork and spoon. This has been the culinary miss of 2023 so far. Maybe commit yourself more to the 5 commitments the restaurant made itself in the past.
Last time: I don't often give out 5 stars. But this time for sure.
Very friendly welcome by lady with face mask. The measures around Corona are rightly taken more seriously here than many other catering companies. The order system used is very neatly explained.
We ordered: Boiled dumplings, Ma Po tofu, Aubergines in fish sauce and stewed pork belly. We also drank Chrysanthemum tea. Everything was delicious. No "flaws" discovered Cooking was good, temperature of dishes was good, everything looked appetizing and most importantly it also tasted excellent.
Before we always went to New King, Nam Kee, Golden Chopsticks or Oriental City, now...

Read moreI have been in the Netherlands for more than a year. I come to Fulu every time to celebrate birthdays, festivals, and friends’ graduations. I still remember the first time I came to Fulu for dinner was last winter. The academic pressure made me miss home, and my friend invited me to eat at Fulu. When I opened the door on the first floor, it was almost full of Chinese people, and the smell of Chinese food made me feel like I was back home. When I looked at the menu, I felt like I wanted to eat everything😂After the dishes were served, everyone stopped talking and started to eat. I felt healed by the taste of home. We ordered several dishes and I recommend the following ones: -Dry pot shrimp: The shrimp meat is full and chewy, delicious and spicy 🦐 -Spicy chicken: Very layered, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the taste of pepper makes me want to eat it unstoppably -Fish-fragrant eggplant: Although I occasionally make it myself, I still ordered it. It is completely different from making it with flavor packets. It is unexpectedly delicious and really amazing to eat with rice -Twice-cooked pork: The surface is shiny and slightly burnt. The meat is soft and chewy when eaten. It is fat but not greasy, lean but not dry. It is a must-order with friends every time -Dry-fried green beans: After coming here, I found that green beans are difficult to fry and difficult to make it good taste. This green bean is perfect. Because the restaurant is in the tourist area, it’s beside Dam square and it’s at the exit of Rokin subway station, you can often see tourists coming to eat. It is really kind to see people from my motherland when I am away from home🥹The waiters are also very thoughtful and attentive, and I am very happy every time I come. I think it’s the best Chinese restaurant in Amsterdam. If you miss the food of your hometown, and if you want to taste authentic Chinese food, come...
