cibo eccellente ma privo di accoglienza!
It’s a shame the service doesn’t match up to the amazing quality of the food here.
I went with my mum as it’s our local area to where we are staying. It had such good reviews and when we walked past it was always busy. We decided to try this restaurant, but on the arrival we were greeted and asked if we had a reservation by a man in a white shirt, we did not and hoped for a table. There were some nice wood tables with some comfy black rattan chairs and he said no over there where the wooden ones with wooden stool were. We had planned to be out for a few hours and enjoy the atmosphere and food so this was a little disappointing. We sat down and we’re brought menus, me and mum picked a nice wine each, the menu is limited but still a good selection. When the waiter came over in the white shirt, he spoke more Italian than English it seemed, mum tried to communicate with him but he seemed really sarcastic to us. We ordered and asked for some bread too, he said it will come. A lot of the dishes we liked were unavailable, the other options given were still good. Looking around we noticed others had the tables laid out and had water, bread etc. we waited patiently and thought it will come.
Then the food came which looked beautiful, it was so fresh and the temperature ready to eat. We had still not been given any bread or water, we saw a young waiter and we asked if we could have bread. He said of course do you like water as well, still or sparking. Finally some attention through good service was given, we wanted to carry on sitting here only because of the food at this stage was so nice. The bread was a lovely focaccia with very nice tapenade. We had our empty mains taken away and he asked if all was ok, this young waiter had good manors, attentive and broken English but polite. He said maybe dessert, we asked for some breathing room and then he brought them over afterwards, we ordered 2 desserts to enjoy and they were equally or if not better than the mains.
As we paid for our dinner, I had to ask what this young man’s name was, he told us Giovanni or Johnny translation in English, he was kind enough to ask my name and then shook my hand telling us to have a great evening and maybe see you again. This waiter deserves recognition for his service and customer care in comparison to others. If this was just him and the food I was have given 5 stars. He truly changed my perception on the service here but the others are not support what your chef...
Read moreIt’s a pity I have to give this place fewer stars than it could have earned. Overall, it’s a lovely restaurant in a beautiful location, but one waiter managed to dampen what was meant to be a special day for us.
We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were first greeted by an older man who began serving us. He was very indifferent — no smile, no interest — and immediately made us feel unwelcome. Thankfully, a younger waiter stepped in later, and his friendliness saved the impression from being completely ruined. He was warm, smiling, and even gave us a card to congratulate us on our special day.
For the rest of the evening, we were served by another man — Italian, I believe — who was also very pleasant and attentive. The antipasti were excellent, the main course was less impressive, but the tiramisu for dessert was absolutely delicious.
In conclusion, if we had been served by the other staff members from the very start, the whole experience could easily have...
Read moreWhat a beautiful little Italian gem in Oost/Centrum! The atmosphere here is romantic, private and intimate. The waiters are extremely friendly, always smiling and giving great recommendations.
For dinner, we tried the appetizer sampler, which was delicious. For the entree, we had the Papardelli with lamb ragout which was divine. The lamb was so buttery and soft, and the sauce was packed with flavor. The pasta was cooked to perfection. We also had the Pacherri with mozzarella and pistachio, the chef’s favorite—it doesn’t disappoint. The sweetness from the pistachio beautifully compliments the savory cheese and tomato drizzle on the pasta.
And last but not least, we had the pan a cotta and tiramisu. I loved to panacotta, it was so sweet and the fruit had a little tart taste. The tiramisu was not exactly my favorite because I am not the best fan of too much coffee, but it’s great for a coffee...
