After a very long day of strolling around in Amsterdam, my friends and me were looking for a nice restaurant to fill our empty stomaches. We found this restaurant near the city center. As soon as we entered this place we were welcomed by the warm and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. One of my friends and me shared a big plate of Injera with a lot of different vegetables and sauces. The other one had Chicken, in a very addictive sauce, with couscous and some side dishes. All of us were more than happy about the food, it was the best choice to go to the Kilimanjaro Restaurant. The waitress who served us, is the daughter and niece of the two cooks, who put their heart and soul into making the dishes. We all felt more than welcome in this restaurant and we'll definitely come back when we visit Amsterdam! We didn't take pictures of the food, because we wanted to eat it right away, the smell alone was so good. Thank you so much Kilimanjaro...
Read moreAlmost 10 years ago from today, my friend and I were visiting Amsterdam for the first time, we met the owner of the restaurant our first night there, while we were walking around the area we were staying in. That night exchanged amazing conversations and my friend and I whom are both artists , shared our work. We were then invited to her Resturant for some of the BEST African food I have had in my life and mind you, it’s been TEN YEARS so I’ve had quite a bit of it since lol. This place is incredible, I’m not sure if the mosaic sun in the bathroom is still there but overall I sure hope that the owner is. I’ve come all the ways from the states 10 years later with a brand new friend to have the food I’ve been raving about for...
Read moreAbsolutely superb. We tried to walk in and get a table on a Saturday evening. Needless to say they were fully booked but we made a booking for Sunday evening. The warm welcome, inviting decor and delicious smells all made for an all round excellent dining experience.
For drinks we had the Tej and the Habesha Beer which were both delicious. The Tej in particular was absolutely delightful and a must to try if you’ve never had it before. We both had the injera one with beef and another with an assortment of vegan accompaniments. Everything was so well seasoned and tasted amazing. The portion size was just right for us.
Absolutely cannot recommend this place enough and a must for any visitor...
