Mostly decent dark little steak-house with ceiling fans, padded walls and an almost cool, comfortable 70s vibe. Understated decor — they could try a little harder to honest. It doesn't have a lot of personality. But it's OK. I felt comfortable here, and that's important. The staff were not massively forthcoming or enthusiastic though, which did miff me a little. I ordered a glass of red wine and a beef steak with chorizo and mustard sauce. It came with a salad and a baked potato and on the whole, it was good. The steak was excellent and the mustard sauce was even better — it took my breath away. Literally. It was hot as a mother. The place as a whole though, was kind of bland, the waiter was not remotely engaged and the salad had one olive. I mean, come on. One olive is much more of an insult than no olives. Oh, and there were little flies flitting about, for which I did not care. On the whole, pretty good but with lots of room for improvement. Not a place I'd seek out again, despite the sauce.

Omg. I had been craving steak and this place is to DIE FOR!! I had the filet while my friend had the prime rib. Such amazing meat! Malbec to pair. Was great! He also had a baked potato he said was good and I had the tomato mozzarella salad that was good. Customer service from Siri was great! He was awesome! Though the person that delivered the food got the prime rib and the filet mixed up. How could they not tell that difference? When we asked her to doublecheck she said no that was right. BS because prime rib is bigger and has a fatty out layer while filet does not and is smaller but taller. So we switched it ourselves but you would think working at an Argentinian restaurant they would know the difference. Didn’t have dessert here. None was tempting.. ambiance was so cool! This was the most crowded Argentinian restaurant I walked by so they must be doing something right! I would totally go again!

We visit Argentinos, Damstraat 34, when we visit Amsterdam. It does very good steaks. We had our usual fillet steak with chips. For starters we had beef empanadas and dessert warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream, dulce de leche and chocolate mousse. I think I've mentioned before it would be nice if they did fries rather than chunky chips. The salad is a little bland, but I don't eat it. If you have a starter they don't give you clean cutlery for the mains. 🤔 Hmm! They could also do with brightening the interior. Given 5 stars for the quick service and quality of the food.

Went to this place right after getting of at Central station, Ordered a steak for myself, mixed veg platter for my mrs and mozzarella salad to start. With no sign of food i ordered some bread with some herb butter.

Mozarella salad came after 15 minutes which had no unique taste what so ever, seasoned with a green pesto from a jar (done the easy way) around 8€ for 6 thin slices of mozarella, some dehydrated lettuce, shaved carrot and some tomato.

The steak was average, the kind you could find in a cafe for €8/€10 max and hadn’t come with chips so you have to order a tiny portion for extra €4 totaling the price of a steak and chips of around €35:

not a very good value for money as you’d possibly pay same amount in a proper establishment, where the steak would actually deliver quality.

Next up is the mixed vegetable platter, consistent of 8 small cup mushrooms, some 5 slices of zuccini, some other few pieces of veg on 2 skewers (the veg tasted very bitter), a corn on the cob (which was the total wow factor of the platter) and an inedible jacket potato,(ingredient value of just under €2) and we paid €15 for a plate of misery and disappointment.

To top things up, the service we received was rude and very direct (“the waiter is always right”kind of service)

Being more specific:

We felt as minority with the staff hanging around, talking in different lanuages and simply just having a banter.

I asked for the salad to be served first, and received all dishes as soon as they were ready,

When i pointed out that i have asked for a salad to be served as a starter, the waiters reaction was very absurd and the “annoyed” type, slamming the two main dishes on the table anyway.

He even pointed out that he has wrote everything down correctly and it is my fault and I haven’t said anything about starters, it’s two against one, just admit your mistake, apologise and move on, but no.

I even had to ASK for bread, instead of being asked, bread with a salad? Who would of thought 💭 (surprise surprise)..

I could not believe the attitude displayed by some dark skinned server who made us feel like a total inconvenience.

Just to be clear he did apologise, but without any sincerity, sympathy or gratitude, probably oping for a tip.

PATHETIC.

We asked for the check and needless to say we havent enjoyed our experience and guest what, actually NOBODY CARED.

The waiter kept asking for payment, rushing me to take my money out without even reading the bill!?!?!?

We’ve paid the check and went far away from...

Uncomfortable Atmosphere and Mediocre Food

My partner and I recently visited this Argentinian restaurant, and while the prices were reasonable, the overall experience was far from enjoyable due to the staff’s behavior.

From the moment we arrived, we felt uncomfortable. The staff repeatedly stared at us, to the point where it felt like they were sizing us up. Before our food arrived, one staff member stood right behind my chair with his hand on it, listening in on our private conversation, which was incredibly intrusive. To make matters worse, while we were eating, I was bizarrely told to switch to another seat for no apparent reason, further disrupting the experience.

When it came to the food, the ribs were overly sweet and sickly, and the salad looked nothing like the menu photos. While it did fill me up for the evening, the quality left much to be desired.

The final interaction was the most off-putting. When the bill arrived, the older waiter made a point of highlighting the tip section and seemed displeased when I chose not to add one. He sulked, walked away without thanking us, and didn’t even say goodbye.

This restaurant has potential with its fair pricing and ambiance, but the staff’s attitude and the food quality need serious improvement to make it a place worth...

You really need to be extremely unlucky to end up in this place out of all eateries available in Amsterdam.

As soon as i sat down i noticed a fellow restaurant goer... an asian girl who got off the table screaming at the sight of a mouse going through her feet.

My experience

Ordered a salmon, which ended up being small, pricey and dry.

Ordered grilled vegetables and ended up with a huge boiled corn on a cob on a plate which frankly scared me... I was under the impression that the cook was feeding the animals rather than the customers.

Ordered a carafe of house wine which - at the cost of 18€ turned out quite sour and was nowhere close to any Argentinian Malbec ive ever tried.

The waiter attempted to collect the dishes 2 times while I was still eating which resulted in me getting equally rude and basically having to tell him off and allow me to finish my food before removing the plate.

Price for salmon grilled veggies and house wine 50€. I honestly think i could have done better. This was an unpleasant experience to the point where i seriously considered getting high out of my mind to forget it all.

Avoid this place like the bubonic plague... for i really think it never left it since the...
