About a month ago, I posted a review (see below) about Asian Kitchen on the internet concerning the nepotism we experienced at this restaurant.
Since I didn’t want to be childish about this incident, we decided yesterday to pay the restaurant a visit again before going to the cinema.
After being welcomed cheerfully by one of the waiters, he told me that the owner ‘didn’t want to help us, since we have been impolite’.
Assuming that has was referring to the review below (which is pretty much an objective resume of the events of that evening in July), the owner didn’t use our reappearance in the restaurant to apologize for his frantic behaviour during our last visit, but chose to turn the facts upside down instead. Apparently, sharing misbehaviour with the public is an act of impoliteness.
To be honest, I have never experienced such rude behaviour in catering industry; let alone two times in a row.
No need to say that we went away and found us a nice restaurant in the area.
Based on these two encounters, I have reached the conclusion that the business formula of Asian Kitchen is ‘Eat, pay and shut up.’ A formula that is strikingly reflected in their appalling behaviour.
Review of one month ago.
For many years, I had fine culinary experiences at Asian Kitchen; until today...
I always liked their foe yong hai. Unfortunately, they took this dish of the menu. Can happen, bad luck for me.
But today, I saw a man eating the same foe yong hai, that is no longer on the menu. So I asked the waiter to bring me this dish too. However, he refused to do so and told me that foe yong hai is no longer on the menu. When I referred to the man in front of me eating foe yong hai, the waiter repeated that they are not serving this dish anymore. When I kept asking, he told me to go to the owner of the place.
A long story short: the man in front of me was ‘a friend’ and that’s why they made him foe yong hai.
Unbelievable...
Since they kept refusing making me foe yong hai, I went away to another place.
This behaviour may be acceptable in China; in Amsterdam we should not...
Read moreI had an outstanding dining experience at ASIAN KITCHEN! This restaurant has truly mastered the art of delivering delicious, mouthwatering dishes. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the exceptional service and the tantalizing food.
First and foremost, the taste of the dishes here is unparalleled. Every bite was a burst of flavor that left my taste buds dancing with joy. I couldn't get enough of the variety and the bold, authentic flavors of their Asian cuisine.
What amazed me even more was the incredible speed at which they served the food. Within just 5 minutes of placing my order, my hot and fresh meal was on the table. This is a testament to their efficiency and commitment to customer satisfaction.
ASIAN KITCHEN also scores big points for convenience. Having a clean and accessible restroom within the restaurant is a huge plus, making it a comfortable and hassle-free dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the prices. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were for the quality and quantity of food they offer. You definitely get more than your money's worth here. The portion sizes are so generous that I had enough to take home for another delicious meal.
The bustling atmosphere at ASIAN KITCHEN is a testament to its popularity, and rightly so. It's a super busy place for a reason, and that reason is the remarkable food and service.
In summary, my visit to ASIAN KITCHEN was nothing short of exceptional. I can't recommend it enough, and I'm giving it a well-deserved 5-star rating. If you're looking for delectable Asian cuisine that's served fast, reasonably priced, and in large portions, this is the place to be. You won't be...
Read moreI recently dined at “Asian Kitchen” and I must say, it was a disappointing experience for several reasons; I just want to share it here.
Ambiance: The restaurant doesn’t offer any authentic Asian atmosphere. The decor is quite poor, though the one positive aspect is the open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs cooking.
Food: When the food arrived, it initially looked promising, especially with the vibrant colors of the meat. Unfortunately, the taste did not match the appearance. The roasted pork was very tender but almost flavorless, and the sauce seemed off. I’ve had this dish in many restaurants, and this one was truly disappointing. The wonton soup was terrible. The "soup" was just boiled water with some chopped onions, completely transparent and tasteless. The menu described it as a "clear broth," not "water," and even the wontons had a strange taste. While the portions were large, this didn’t make up for the lack of flavor and quality.
Service: The food arrived quickly, but my utensils were practically thrown at me by the waitress, who rudely tossed them in my direction without care for where they landed. I want to note that the restaurant was nearly empty, so this behavior cannot be excused by busy-ness.
Price: The place is not expensive, although it seems prices have increased over the past year without a corresponding increase in quality. I don't think the price is fair because you can get the same dishes, with better quality, for a similar price in Chinatown in Amsterdam.
Overall, I'm sorry to say this, but I wouldn't recommend this...
