I never leave bad reviews for hotels but the lack of service mentality of the staff here was inacceptable and ruined our stay. At our arrival in Amsterdam by car, we had troubles finding the garage. We called the reception, letting them know that we are looking for the garage and they gave us directions. We eventually found it and when wanting to enter the garage, nobody answered to open the gate. After waiting for a while we called the reception, where they let us know that the gate was in fact broken and had to be put up manually by the staff. How hard would it have been to inform us about this when we first called, or put up a sign???
We had also booked a double room with an extra bed. We arrived, asked if they received our request for a third bed and the lady at the reception confirmed. Went up: No third bed. 2 out of 3 elevators were broken and it took me 5 minutes to come back down to the reception to let them know about the missing bed. We checked in as three people and besides the bed there were no towels for a third person either. Eventually they brought us the 3rd bed - but not the towels! For breakfast the next morning, which we had also booked for 3, once again only 2 people in the system. Reception had a full day to correct our booking and inform the breakfast staff but they did not. From an NH collection hotel, you would expect the service to be thinking one step ahead of you, especially when theyāve made errors. When entering and leaving the hotel during our stay, there was no hello nor goodbye from the staff - not even a smile. The bathroom had no toilet brush and no ventilation. The breakfast buffet as well as its staff was wonderful! Finally, when we checked out and walked back to the garage to leave, it turns out you need a code to enter the garage, which no one cared to give to us at the reception during check out. At this point the amount of carelessness felt provocative. Hotel is located pretty central which is great to get around Amsterdam, but the street is pretty busy and noisy at night.
All in all cannot recommend this hotel and was more than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually am very reluctant to write a bad review, however this was a whole diff experience. A 4 star hotel with 2 star behavior. And the only reason I say 2 star is because āsomeā of the people who worked here were nice. Firstly I had to request fresh robs constantly and never got any except the first pair. I asked for slippers two days in a row until I went to reception myself and asked for a pair in person. I asked for tea cups over the phone because I am pregnant and got extremely sick with the flu they gave me water cups with no handles and re-requested the cups. They kept the same bed sheets on for the nights I stayed here, and I donāt even do that at my own house let alone a place thatās supposed to change the sheets anyway. Honestly, we usually stay in 5 star hotels, but my husband requested a hotel with a balcony and this is all I found in Amsterdam. So, I gave them a lot of grace with the hygienic situation, the constant nagging to get a few items into my room to make me comfortable, but the attitude when requesting I mean thatās where I stop and say thatās too far! This is a service business, literally their job is to make people comfortable, and for people to request for things to make their stay comfortable and when Iām asking for things theyāve listed are already part of the room, but werenāt when I got here is ridiculous!! Anywho find a different place if youāre into comfortability, hygiene and good room service because that doesnāt really exist either unless you order from their burger joint! You almost donāt have dietary options you eat what they provide and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a wonderful hotel and excellent service.
Just arrived in Amsterdam earlier this week for a two day stay at the NHCollection Amsterdam Flower Market. When we walked into the lobby, the smell of hundreds of flowers greeted us along with Lourdesā smiling face.
Our room was very good. The hotel has a reasonably newer feel as if just refurbished (2019). Room appointments are excellent. Nice closet armoire. Outstanding bathroom. Our suite has 2 balconies one looking out in the Canal and nearby clock tower.
Of particular importance to us was the wonderful buffet breakfast. An amazing area of the hotel with excellent views. Of course the buffet food was very good too!
I also recommend the burger bar with award winning hamburgers and well priced drinks.
We had an issue with my wifeās wheel chair at the airport. When I mentioned this they immediately offered the hotel wheelchair until we left or the problem was resolved!!!
The next morning Lillia helped me find a wheelchair vendor with stock near town, verified hours and products and made an appointment for me to go look at replacements. That was very successful and I returned with a replacement that after noon. (Since we were in a cruise the third day that was very important.)
And then there was Valentina who arranged all our transport and helped with our bags. I canāt thank the staff of this hotel enough.
