We had been hoping to have dinner in the restaurant next door but with no reservation our luck was out. Fortunately though the entire menu is available in this pub. Given the nice evening it also meant that we were able to eat out on the street too which gave a different and pleasant experience. There only seemed to be a single person working, which meant he was stretched for the number of people there but given the situation he did really well. The food menu is extensive with loads of traditional Dutch dishes as well as more recognisable European plates. Everything was served in good time and presented well with the staff being knowledgeable of the options when ordering. The Dutch tasting sharing platter starter was superb with seven tasty items, and the stamppot main was sizeable and full of flavour. Although the prices aren’t the cheapest it’s still good value for the quality of the dishes. There’s a good range of drinks available inside and the friendly staff member was quick at getting top ups and the service was great. I’ll definitely be returning here, even if just for drinks and I can highly recommend it.

The place looks cozy and it was the only place that had space for our friends to hangout, but we experienced treatment that shouldn't happen, to say the least: In the menu, there is Heineken small and large, for 2,90 and 3,50 EUR respectively. We asked for two large Heineken's and the bartender asked if we wanted a pint, so we said: yes, sure, thinking he asks to confirm it's the large one. When paying, we got to know our beers costs 6 EUR. Here is the pricing that the bartender told us while payment: Small: 300ml - 2,9EUR LARGE: 400 ml - 3,5 EUR Pint: 500 ml - 6 EUR. It's an odd way to charge extra, as it doesn't even add up to have such a price difference for the largest beer. When disagreeing and saying the argument above (about the nonsense pricing scheme) the bartender threatened to force our friends to pay for us if we won't pay the full price. Not a terrible loss - charged 5 EUR more, but if they are open to misguide customers in such a way, what else do they fake? I certainly won't check again and wouldn't recommend you.

Great little pub with good selection of beers and liquor. Before I went I read that it had traditional Dutch food but initially thought against getting food when we got there because there was no one in the place and no sign of a functioning kitchen. However, after 30minutes or so the place filled up with both locals and tourists and I’m pretty sure the food was being cooked at the busy restaurant next door and then brought into the pub. We got a selection of 7 entrees which was very nice and other people’s meals looked great. Bartender was fantastic, she seemed to know everyone in there and even after the place filled up she was attentive and remembered I didn’t like really sweet beers.

My Boyfriend and I had our first date here. The owner is funny & very friendly. The service is fast and always good. The music is great, old classics that feel tailor made to our exact tastes. My boyfriend knows literally every song that plays. The food here is pretty basic bar food, nothing super fancy. Very simple & enjoyable. Very Dutch. A large selection of beers! Even stuff that I drink, and I'm not keen on beer at all. There's something for every taste. I always order a baileys hot chocolate (chocomel): my signature drink, and the owner always happily obliges. The decor is intriguing. Lots to look at and talk about, but certainly not crowded or intimidating. And the bathrooms are quite luxurious! It looks a bit plain from the outside, especially with the construction, but once you enter, it has a warm lovely atmosphere, whether busy or deserted, it's always welcoming. Suitably named as it's fit for a King or Queen!

P.S. Hipsters, stay away! It's a lovely, genuine place. Don't bring your pretentiousness & ruin our spot.

P.P.S. tourists come along! A great little hideout just far enough from the bustle, but close enough to the centre for all of the action...
