If there was a minus review I would definitely use it for this horrible horrible hotel with the horrible, unfriendly and rude staff especially Amal and all her crew at reception!!!

I checked in your hotel after being on an 18 hour journey all the way from Dubai and I actually booked two months ago and was so excited for trying your hotel, but being yelled at and given the worst check in of my life was definitely a first time experience for me!!!

I booked a twin or double room ages ago and I reminded the lady at check in at reception that we need a twin room if available and she said yes, only to discover when we opened the door that it was a single tiny room! Shafeer the concierge was so kind and offered to go down and check for us and we waited in the room and he came back and said that the receptionist told him it is a twin bed room so he checked the bed again but it was still a single tiny bed! So he went down again because they told him that no we booked a single room so I thought to go down to show the receptionist my booking on my app only to be greeted by an angry lady called AMAL! And when I showed her my phone she started yelling at me that a twin room doesn’t mean double bed!!!!!! And I tried to explain myself, but she raised her voice even more!! So I asked her very quietly to lower her voice but she kept yelling and speaking angrily!! And when I tried to explain that in the entire world a twin or double room means two beds, she just kept yelling and then when I turned away from her, her and her other lady receptionist started talking in Dutch and laughing me at out loud!!!! All of them were rude! Who does that!!! And at a hotel! Am I at a high school?

Shafeer was the only person in this whole hotel that was so kind and kept apologising for his colleague’s horrible behaviour.

I swear if I had time to go to another hotel I would right now but I’m so tired and now I’m scared what they will do to us here and how they will treat us for the two nights we are here!!!!!!!

And this didn’t end here! The next day they managed to lose our room key and accused us of not returning it and that they contacted us but we didn’t answer which both are a lie, and we asked them to check the cameras as it will show us returning the key and viola the key magically appeared!

The worst this about all of this, is that they didn’t even try to apologize or try to resolve the issue in any way! They just ignored it all together! This shows how professional they are and how much they care about...

From the moment we began the reservation process, our experience with this hotel was nothing short of amazing. Booking was incredibly easy, and communication with the staff was smooth and efficient. I spoke with the hotel directly over the phone, and they graciously accommodated us with a connecting room, which made our stay especially comfortable. A heartfelt thank you to Amal and Jeena for their kind and prompt assistance — their support made everything seamless and welcoming even before we arrived.

Upon arrival, we were truly impressed. The hotel is absolutely stunning, with a beautifully designed lobby that immediately gives a warm and elegant first impression. One of the lovely touches we appreciated was the daily complimentary drinks, coffee, and sweets offered in the lounge — a thoughtful gesture that added a personal and homey vibe to our stay.

The location could not be better. Situated right in the heart of Jordaan, the most charming and vibrant neighborhood in Amsterdam, the hotel allows easy access to local cafes, canals, shops, and museums. We felt very lucky to stay in such a well-placed and picturesque area — it truly enhanced our Amsterdam experience.

The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic. The team in the kitchen, in particular, were very accommodating and always ready to assist us with anything we needed — whether it was extra plates, utensils, or just a friendly chat. Their service was genuine and greatly appreciated.

Our room was both stunning and functional — visually appealing with modern, tasteful decor and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The bathtub was a great plus, perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring the city. We also loved the use of L’Occitane bath products, which added a luxurious touch to the whole experience.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was fantastic. Every member of the staff, including Amal, Jeena, and the rest of the team, were incredibly attentive, friendly, and truly committed to making our stay special. We felt cared for from the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out.

We’re already looking forward to coming back again. Thank you for such a...

DO NOT STAY HERE-especially if you want to sleep. I was so excited to book this place. It looked so romantic and they did a great job on social media. I paid way more for this than our two very nice hotels we stayed at in Copenhagen and it was terrible.

The walls and windows are PAPER thin. You can hear everyone in the rooms next door-talking, taking a shower, blow drying their hair. We were on the backside of the hotel (and I paid for an upgraded room with jacuzzi) and the street was SO loud. Cars and people and people zooming off from the scooter rental right across the street. You can hear doors slamming at all hours of the night in the hallway and the hallway always smelled of weed all the time. I had ear plugs and we used a sound machine and could STILL hear all the noise.

The bed was very hard, my husband liked it, but it was uncomfortable for me. Though due to all the noise he barely slept at all. The TV was mounted on the wall parallel to bed which was impractical and did not have any way to stream devices.

They attach your key card to a giant heavy keychain and make you bring it to the front desk every time you leave and pick it up when you get back. I asked if we could just have the keycard and they said no.

The lobby is very pretty and nice, the bar snacks we ordered were literally doritos heated up and the free cakes are not good.

The lobby cat was adorable and sweet. The water in the tub (which was very small) was hot, saving grace.

The staff was polite, but not overly friendly and when I told them about the issues they said they were sorry to hear that and then proceeded to charge the extra $50 a day city tax that was not part of my original prepaid booking.

The carpets are well worn and the rooms facing the "courtyard" you can see in while waiting for the elevator.

Location is great and central, but that was...

I would have wanted to give more stars since I had really waited to stay in this hotel and the decorations were amazing. I really enjoyed the miljö and the hotel bar was very pretty. They had nice cocktails and some snacks available. But to me this is a 2 star hotel because our room was too noisy and cold to be enjoyable. Because of the great decor I would give it 3 stars. For me good night sleep is one of the most important things while travelling and it was impossible to sleep in the room. Our room was very cold and there were no heater or anything to make it warm. Especially after housekeeping had left the window open for the whole day, when it was under +10 degrees outside. Bathroom floor was icy. During hot summer days the room is probably perfect. But in cold spring days, not so much. You could hear people partying, talking and fighting outside our window all night long. We woke up 5 am on Sunday to a fist fight and men yealling for 30 min straight outside. Since the hotel location is close to bars etc. They should invest in sound blocking windows. Or at least offer ear plugs! There were renovations in the hotel - this was not mentioned anywhere before our arrival. And there were no clear line or instructions how to check in etc. Guests were just standing there confused in a big ball. Every time we came to the lobby the phones were ringing and there were lot of people waiting around. To me it seemed like there were too little staff to handle all of the guests. Staff were friendly but seemed stressed out. You had to leave your key to the staff and it did not feel so nice to give your room number and last name everytime you came back in front of all other guests in the lobby since it was always full of people. Having free coffee and candies were nice touch. But the lack of sleep and room being cold really killed the mood.
