Visited this place based on the reviews, however, unfortunately, for us this was a bad experience - specially the service. We ordered the green curry with vegetables and massaman curry with chicken. Both dishes tasted just OK - nothing special. Ordered both dishes medium spicy, however, both came out to get sweet and we tasted higher concentrations of the sugar syrup towards the bottom of the bowl and overall the sugar was overpowering, so couldn't really taste the curries. Now the Service: The moment we entered, the greeting from the person/host inside was unwelcoming - almost as if he didn't want us there. The same guy took our order, again, seemed like he didn't really want to be there either. The dishes came out fairly quickly in a few minutes. We asked for the check, paid and left. Just outside the door, the same guy stopped us rudely and told us that we shouldn't have taken our receipt and that said "it doesn't belong to you". We asked why and pulled out the receipt and he snatched it from my hand and immediately realized it was our receipt. Then he asks - "why were you at the other table" to which I explained that I was just placing the receipt holder/the little black folder (because my toddler had unknowingly picked up the receipt holder) on the table close to the door just before leaving (and that table had been empty for a while). So instead of apologizing, the guy doubled down and kept repeating "why were you at the other table?". I gently told him that he was being very rude and that he could have just asked us instead of rudely accusing us for something that didn't really make any sense. But he kept repeating the same thing rudely and...
Read moreWe arrived late afternoon, around 16:30, and there was only one table occupied. The server was not impolite, but was not welcoming either. He allowed us to select our own table.
Because it was a late lunch, we wanted to order something lighter. My wife went for the starter platter selection and I went for a chicken red curry.
The first issue we had was that we had not met the âŹ17.50 per head minimum, and we had to order something additional. A table minimum is understandable in a busy restaurant, but in a practically empty place, it seemed ridiculous. I wanted to leave, but my wife was tired and hungry, so we stayed and ordered drinks that we didn't really want or need.
The food arrived promptly, but it looked unappetising and was poorly presented. The starter platter was swimming in soy sauce. The ribs were tough and stringy. The chicken drumstick was tough and tasteless. The satay chicken skewer was the only thing enjoyable.
My curry was a watery slop which had been cooked so long that the coconut milk had separated out. The overcooked, tasteless chicken still managed to be tough. The vegetables were a soggy mess. The rice was a gooey mass. I ate barely a third of the meal.
When the server finally arrived to enquire whether everything was OK, I told him that it wasn't. That was the end of it. No enquiries as to what was wrong. No offer to make restitution. He just slunk off and brought us the bill.
It was the worst meal I've ever been presented with in a restaurant.

Read moreI recently visited Siam Thai restaurant and I must say, I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The food served there was far from authentic Thai cuisine, particularly the Tom Yum soup which was watery and completely lacking in flavor. It was a huge letdown.
To make matters worse, I encountered a waiter who was not only rude but also disrespectful. Their behavior was completely uncalled for and left a sour taste in my mouth. It's disheartening to see such unprofessionalism in a supposedly reputable establishment.
Furthermore, I was appalled by the restaurant's policy of enforcing a minimum spending requirement of 17.5 euros per person. This rule felt distasteful and seemed like a ploy to extract more money from customers. It certainly does not reflect well on the restaurant's reputation.
As someone who appreciates and respects Thai cuisine, I am certain that Thai people would be shocked to see this restaurant representing their culture. The lack of authenticity, combined with the unpleasant service and the unappealing minimum spending policy, make it difficult for me to recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic Thai dining experience.
I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary changes to improve the overall dining experience at Siam...
