The only plus I can say for this hotel is it has amazing location but the compliments stop there!|We arrived off of our cruise ship early and wanted to leave baggage with hotel as we were too early for check in ….the guy we were dealing with was most unfriendly and told us this hotel doesn’t allow you to store ur baggage here….we had it in writing from several emails that the hotel would happily store baggage until check in time …he was not very happy to read this and relented begrudgingly…..we came back at check in time to be told we were on the 2nd and 4th floors and there’s NO LIFT! We couldn’t believe our ears….WE had to lug our heavy bags up the skinniest stairs that were almost going up vertically with absolutely NO help from staff…so dangerous…..it was dark and dank and more than a bit scary …the place is a labyrinth …if u have trouble walking or negotiating stairs this place is not for you….no where did we read when booking this establishment did it say there was no lift!! .. they need to let people know there’s no lift….|The rooms were also not as depicted there was only one extremely lumpy pillow each and a paper thin quilt…we asked for at least one extra pillow each and staff looked confused and said they didn’t think they had any more….they managed to find two more lumpy pillows and brought them to the room and handed us the pillow cases to put on ourselves lolol….not exactly hotel etiquette |The wifi was minimal….,the add said too that there was breakfast included ….there was not!|Very outdated hotel….bathrooms were not cleaned, no coffee or tea makings, not even a glass to have a drink out of but rather a dispenser with 2 plastic shot glass size cups that were not refilled….the beds were not made up rather just flung the quilt up over the lumpy pillows…sheets were itchy…no fridge…the tv was the size of a postage stamp|The worst hotel we have ever stayed in….would I recommend….god no!! It wasn’t even a cheap hotel (tho it certainly felt like a cheapie) |Awful...
Read moreI stayed with my daughter for 1 night. The evening we arrived there was no heating. The next morning there was no hot water. We only discovered this after my daughter had run the shower for 10 mins waiting for it to come through. When I reported it the manager he said he knew about it and that the whole hotel was affected (although no one had bothered to let us know). When I went to the bar area downstairs some while later (there is no reception, check in and out is through the bar staff on the ground floor) to discuss this and ask for compensation the manager said he would come to discuss it with me in my room and be up in 1 minute. I went back up there and waited, he didn't arrive so I went back to the bar and was told the manager was now in a meeting and could not be disturbed. I made it clear I still wanted to speak with him and could not understand why he had said he would come to talk with me and then blatantly hadn't. After I had collected our luggage and was checking out a short while later, having given up any hope of being able to have a shower, I asked again and was told the manager had now left the building!|On returning home I complained to Booking.com who I had booked it through and they contacted the hotel. The response from the manager was that I had lied and that he had told me to meet at his office and I had never gone there. Booking.com are now asking if I can prove there wasn't any hot water! No details of how I am meant to prove it, although I have suggested they ask other customers from that day. |While I know things can break and go wrong, what I find so appalling is that instead of apologising and making extra effort to inform and explain, the complete lack of concern or customer service given the situation. To be told I had lied about it...
