Casa di Sergio — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Fair prices (in a touristy and competitive dining precinct) with a variety of dishes that can accommodate to many dietary requirements - a plus for these two positives. The restaurant also seemed attractive based on a good amount of diners dining in the restaurant. We can also see clearly that neighbouring restaurants were quite the opposite. So we decided to dine here as a busy restaurant usually means good food and service. However, we did not fine the food all that great but the service was fine, although I could see why some diners made complaints re: lack of good service in the reviews. We ordered the ricotta in tomato sauce and the pizza with fried potatoes (which was just fries on top, lol). Both dishes were very average, not much sauce on pizza and lacking flavour and seasoning. Ricotta sauce wasn't bad but the stuffing was bland. Maybe the dishes we ordered just tasted bland because they were vegetarian dishes?? Maybe other dishes tastes a whole lot better because why would they be so busy? But overall a bit disappointed with the food we had tonight. We did appreciate the complientary table water and bread. Apparently, some restaurants only give out bottled water at a cost which is silly. My rating is based on...

Yesterday, my friends and I were kicked out of this restaurant for drawing. Before that, we ordered food, when we finished it, our plates were taken away, we drank cocktails, which we also bought here, but the waiter didn't like it and said "you can't sit here anymore". He could have kindly explained something but said "this is my business and other people want to sit" even though the restaurant was completely empty inside. We wanted to make another order, but we were told "no service" and refused to serve us. Our visit at that time was less than one hour. It was very unexpected for me personally, because I often visited this place. I constantly invited new guests here, I brought friends and family. Also, I work in the field of working with people and I have always recommended this restaurant to my clients. You got a lot of clients from me. It used to be my favorite restaurant because of the delicious food and the friendly and helpful service, but I won't be able to come here again because I'm afraid we'll be kicked out...

My go to place for morning coffee and supper most evenings. Marcello and staff were top knotched!

Now to comment on Pedro Mendes and Maria Eduarda Bernard's negative comments.

My boyfriend and I were sitting at the table behind you Maria. You and Pedro were loud, rude, obnoxious. The rest of your party were quiet and respectful! You both expect to drink for free. Every guest is offered a complimentary glass of water. This was not good enough for you! After a heated argument on your part Maria, you then ask for a bottle of water. Finally! Businesses cannot survive if guest do not buy drinks.

Pedro you were too-faced! You would talk about Marcello behind his back while he was inside the restaurant and as soon as he came back outside, you would shut your trap .

Luckily Marcello is a working professional and didn't kick you all out of the restaurant. You both give young people a bad name. Didn't your parents teach you anything?!.
