Coffeeshop The Otherside — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Great spot if you're a white supremacist. After an otherwise pleasant day in Amsterdam my cousin and I walked into this rubbish establishment where we saw 2 available stools by the bar. I asked the guy sitting at the bar if someone was using the stool next to him. He indicated we were welcome to have both the seats by him.

Then the male employee working the bar came over (tall, white, muscular yet a bit effeminate). First, he told us grufly that we couldn't "smoke" at the bar. That was fine as we had no intention of smoking and indicated as much. Then he told us that we couldn't "sit" as we were positioned because we would block a menu that was taped to the very edge of the top of the bar. With plenty of space available, my cousin began to move her stool away from the menu. Then he told us we couldn't sit at the bar at all. I asked him where exactly we could sit. He replied that he couldn't make room for us.

We are two black women. The only non-white individuals in the place. The other customers observed and said nothing. I told him that he was a pig and we left. A gentle reminder of the nature and history of the country we're visiting.

But who knows, it may be the perfect...

Awful service. We entered to buy a latte and have a smoke. When we got to the front of the queue, despite both of us being clearly over 25 the server asked for our ID - the first time in 2days heavy smoking. When we said we didn't have any, and that we were here for my partners 25th birthday the server proceeded to tell us he "didn't ask our age". As we turned to leave, we heard him quite clearly say "i know your type". We were on a lovely high from being at betty boop with lovely atmosphere and high quality grade, and this just swiped us sideways for half an hour or so. Made an example of us, and we felt pretty humiliated. By far the rudest person we've met...

Really rude obnoxious owner..

Just search Google and you'll see most coffee shops are 4.3 star and up..these guys are below 4 star that's saying something.

we went in ordered 2 cokes and when he asked about weed we said we were gonna buy in 10 mins as we're thirsty and needed a j first ...he then after we pay for drinks says oh but you can't smoke your own stuff..

For context it's 2pm and it's empty..only 2 other people there...and also for context we needed weed..he heard me say to my friend the weeds great here!! But who wants to support such unfriendly businesses who are so rigid..

Enough better options around to avoid. Who are much much...
