I went there with a group of friends, as soon as we got closer to the entrance, one of the waiters were super nice and welcoming us. First, I asked for tap water and they don’t serve it… that’s okay. Then, it took a lot of time to arrive the food, and they were bringing one dish at time.

At the time to pay, they said they don’t split the bill - we were a big group. In many others places I have been in Amsterdam, when you arrive in a big group, they say they don’t split the bill - what was not in this case. If they said in the beginning, we probably would still have dinner there. The problem was I said to the waiter in a very polite way “just a feedback that would be nice to say when big groups arrive that you don’t split the bill”. The waiter basically replied so rude “well, YOU should have asked”, then I said that it was just a feedback and he kept saying “you didn’t ask so…” and acting very rude towards me, it was so unexpected. I don’t recommend the place just for the type of service and how they treat the customers. The food was okay, not the best but fine.

After go there, I read the reviews here and all the negative reviews, they are defensive and rude - what’s make a lot of sense how they treated me. I know they will not take the feedback, but at least others customers can be aware of the service there.

Editing after the response of the place: They say we were 20 people, you can see in the picture that we were 8 people, not a large group. Also, they never said to order a big bottle, they just said they don’t have tap water, and a friend actually ordered a small bottle. It is sad that not only the service is terrible, they also lie to justifying themselves in...

DO NOT TRY! Let me tell you my story. We were 2 families and went for the lunch there. First we used the toilet. It was catastrophic! No toilet paper and not clean. I came out and find some napkins and went inside again!!!! We ordered food and after 10 minutes half of them came. We were waiting for 5-7 minutes for the rest but didn’t come. When I asked they said those are not ready yet!!!!!!! I said what should we do now? Wait until those become ready and make the rest cold? Or some people start eating and others watch them?!!!! They didn’t know they should bring the food at once! You think it’s end of the story? No! Bill came! During the food I asked for Arabic bread. For those don’t know, Arabic bread is a delicious, small and light. You could buy a package in Arabic supermarkets with 80 cents in (in Germany and maximum 1 euro in Netherlands) and there are 5-6 bread inside. They bring us 4 pice (less than a package) and they charged us 1.5 euro for each bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, 1.5 euro per bread! It means they sold use one pack 6 euro!!!!!!!! Northing to say! Food quality was medium to low. Volume of food was acceptable. Cola was in 200cc bottles! Totally not...

We visited this restaurant in a moment that it was not very busy, we were the third table and there was not much flow as it was before peak hour.

First thing we got told was that the portions were smaller (kebab was one instead of two as shown in the picture, same with the chicken tikka which was half of the portion) - the menu at the time of this review is outdated. We waited for long before I got told that the dish I ordered was sold out to which I quickly replied with an alternative dish, no problem. We also waited for more than 20 minutes for 2 soft drinks.

The table next to us came 15 minutes after us and it seemed like they knew each other, they got all their food which included starters and afterwards their main dishes before we even got our salad and we had to wait for our main dishes even longer. Server looked totally unmotivated. The food was good but waiting for so long ruined the whole lunch.

(picture for reference, there is no rice&fries option, we just shared the fries with my partner - no problem with that as it's stated...

Middl.eat is an absolute gem and easily one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere and excellent service set the tone for a memorable meal. The hummus was clearly homemade—creamy, rich, and full of flavor. It’s the kind of dish that lets you know you’re in for something special. But the real stars of the menu were the lamb kabobs—so incredibly tender and flavorful that I had to come back just to have them again. The chicken shawarma was marinated to perfection, juicy and spiced just right. Every dish was bursting with authentic, bold flavors, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into the preparation. Middl.eat isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a must-stop destination for anyone who loves Middle Eastern cuisine or just appreciates truly excellent food. Highly Recommend!
