Just had a wonderful 4 night break in Amsterdam, We found this restaurant along a side street which looked pretty, the restaurant was busy with other dinners so that’s always a good sign so we browsed the menu outside and it had something for my husband and myself so we decided to eat here, my husband had the pepperoni pizza and I opted for the lasagna, our server Bernadetta was just so lovely, very welcoming and attentive, nothing was too much trouble, I was hungry and was concerned in case the portion was too small but when our food arrived it certainly didn’t disappoint, the food was absolutely amazing!! My lasagna was just epic!! I would soooo recommend this restaurant, it was so good I came back the following evening and we had different choices husband had the tagliatelle pasta with added chicken, bacon & mushrooms which he really enjoyed and I had the spaghetti bolognaise with tagliatelle pasta and added spinach which again was sooooo goood !!! We had bread and garlic butter at each meal which was complimentary again lovely touch to the meal, when the food came it was piping hot, so enjoyed both evenings, This restaurant is very popular and has a good flow of dinners, some of the dinners are local and eat there in a regular basis, if I came back to Amsterdam I would definitely visit again the food the service and the atmosphere was just outstanding!!! Well done to the restaurant and Bernadetta for looking after us (shame you don’t have a restaurant near me in the...
Read moreWe were so excited to come here based on all the good reviews. But our experience was awful. First, even though there was abundant cozy seating in the next room & upstairs where there were only a few people, we were seated at the worst most claustrophobic table in the restaurant in the entry way- where my husband’s seat was back facing, less than 12” from the steep spiral kitchen stairs case. And my chair was next to the high traffic walk way. I politely asked for a different table. The man in charge seemed very irritated by this (?). He was totally unfriendly after that and wouldn’t make eye contact.
We were moved to the next room next to an open window in late October with a cold draft. Had to keep my coat on. They took a very long time to take even our drink order. Gave us bread without drink. The food did not come out for an hour after bread. And then they made the wrong dish for our friend and she had to wait 20 minutes as ours grew cold. They did not apologize or comp anything.
The tortellini was fantastic. Pizza was good. But the bruschetta literally was completely dry with diced cherry tomatoes and arugula on top. That was a first and not worth 7+ €. Overall terrible but I will say the bartender...
Read moreI was excited to try Rossini’s, but I walked away completely disappointed. First of all, the prices are way too high for the quality of food they serve. If I’m paying €26 for a filet mignon, I expect something juicy and flavorful—not a dry, overcooked piece of meat that tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour.
My friend ordered the Penne ai 4 Formaggi (€12.50), and I swear I could make a better version at home with supermarket cheese and a microwave. It was bland, greasy, and barely warm. We also tried the Insalata Rustica (€11.50)—huge mistake. It was basically a pile of wilted lettuce with a few sad beans and a sprinkle of tuna.
And don’t even get me started on the service. The waiter acted like we were an inconvenience, barely checked on us, and forgot part of our order. When we asked about our missing bruschetta, he shrugged and said, “Oh, do you still want that?” Uh, yeah, that’s why we ordered it.
For these prices, I expected an authentic Italian experience, but instead, it felt like a tourist trap with zero passion for food. Save your money and go...
