De Haven van Texel — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Right next to canal, such nice scenery just seeing everyone outside. The meals were good, nothing bad or amazing, the portion sizes were very large and it was good to try out traditional Dutch food. The dessert was so amazing. I would go back just for those dutch pancakes. I'm not sure if this is just how things are in Amsterdam, but our food took forever to come out (40+ minutes). It was the same for other people as well but maybe that's just how things roll? I noticed that whenever we ate at a sit down restaurant, the food always took a long time to come out so I don't think this is limited to Jay the restaurant. Overall, if you're a tourist, I would recommend this place :) waitress...

We have been robbed and laughed at our faces. My friend politely asked for his soft drink to be changed. He wanted a Bottled coca cola or canned . Not a glass of flat soda. The waiter came back and brought tap water in a glass. When he put it down on the table he laughed. When it was time to pay for the only Beer we order they charges the water. Waiter claimed it was mineral. and I said that they couldn’t charge it because is was tap water. He never brought a bottle. Just a glass of tap water. Waiter said no. this is how we mineral water. The food was terrible, just one big chunk of fat, virtually no meat. The staff’s attitude was appalling. They were all on their phones and couldn’t be bothered to do much. But the worst part was the entire place was absolutely filthy especially the kitchen. I was deceived by some of the good reviews when trying to find a place near the station to eat a traditional dutch dish but i’m really writing this review to help people avoid catching salmonella or some other disease.
