Ok but not an INCANTO, in my opinion. Beware I am a person who judges a restaurant also from the bathroom and the entrance, and both were disappointingly small. What didn't convince me at all is the diversity in the servings. Some dishes were traditional with a gourmet twist, thinking of tagliatelle al cinghiale, but some were nouvelle cuisine. It made me wonder if the chef didn't know yet what his style was. We were served an antipasto of fried calamari supposed to be for share but it was just hard to find 1 calamaro in it. As far as the presentation goes, everything looked great but, ultimately, none of the dishes left a positive mark on the guests at my table. The artichokes quiche was dry. The salty cannolo was nothing special, but it really. Better to forget about it. The effort to keep it international adding a soup and a cheese platter as dessert also bothered me a little. Wine card was interesting however none of the waiters seemed to know that the wine I requested was organic despite being a certified label on the bottle. Also, the music selection was just poor. We listened to some kind of lounge jazz and neomelodic napoletano, passing through Cocciante and other popular Italian songs. That was a lot to take in. I guess this place just hasn't decided what's its personality yet. Therefore it's just another overly expensive place with uncomfy entrance where I will...

My husband and I first came here 10+ yrs ago and had a wonderful experience on one of our first dates. The location overlooks the beautiful Amstel River, and despite being in the Center, is tucked away in a refurbished traditional Dutch building, and is so gezellig. We've since come back twice over 10 years, and, unfortunately, the food has gotten progressively worse. The descriptions in the menu hold the promise of authentic flavor combinations but the preparations leave much to be desired - the seasoning is consistently over or under, the sauces were too dry with high salinity, and they also lacked depth and complexity to our palettes.

We ordered the gnocchi, octopus, and duck. The gnocchi was the best of the three, but not by leaps and bounds. There is a place in the restaurant world for mediocre Italian fare, but their price points do not match the quality of the dishes. The one bright spot in the evening was the wine - both the sommelier and the wine were incredible and memorable. We're grateful for the excellent service, but won't...

Stop debating it! Go here for dinner! This is an authentic, high end Italian restaurant run by 100% Italians. The cocktails, wine pairings and meals were top notch! We will be talking about this dinner after we are back in the states. We will be coming back anytime we’re in Amsterdam! We each had one of the two tasting menus. The tasting menu was 4 courses. The differentiator was the choice of Cod or Goose breast for one menu’s entree or a 15 euro more menu that had beef tenderloin with truffle and spinach as the entree. There is also a wine pairing option that bonus allows you to choose which courses you want wine with (if you don’t want a whole glass with each of the four) instead of a flat wine pairing fee. Photos below are of the Calamari salad, goose breast entree, beef tenderloin entree and raspberry mousse dessert. The second course was an asparagus risotto we failed to get a photo of. It was all...

Last night we had the pleasure of dining at Incanto, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The menu was refined and perfectly balanced – every course was a delight. What truly elevated the evening was the outstanding wine pairing: each wine was thoughtfully selected to complement and enhance the flavors of the dishes. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. You can really tell that everyone here is passionate about what they do and pays close attention to detail. We felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening. All in all, Incanto is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality Italian cuisine, excellent wines, and a truly hospitable setting. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at many Italian restaurants worldwide, but Incanto stands out as truly exceptional. Nestled along the picturesque Amstel canal, its location is simply stunning. Despite being Dutch, the owner has mastered the art of Italian cuisine, delivering flavors that transport you straight to Italy. The food and service are outstanding, with each dish meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. A highlight for me was the unique sea bass and Baklava dish, which ranks among the top 5 dishes I’ve ever tasted. Incanto is a must-visit for any Italian food enthusiast!
