Latest review: Today, I visited this place again for more the 20th time or more for old times sake but it was after a few months because I had been going to their branch at Rembrandtplein lately. I have been a fan of Michele’s for a long time, have even tried the OG in Naples but the service at the branch in De Pijp was abysmal, the staff has been changed and it feels like the older shine of the place is gone. The welcome you rudely and then we were seated in a table near the door when almost the whole restaurant was empty, but I don’t mind that, what I minded was the tone of the guy, he seems like the manager, brunette with blue eyes and probably Italian. I got seated but was left feeling unsettled so I got up to leave and he asked me if all was well in a condescending tone to which I replied that haven’t been feeling good here now to which he mumbled and muttered something. Never going back there, on the other hand Rembrandtplein has a better overall atmosphere and a good pizza, the staff is also kind and welcoming so if you are planning a visit, go there instead:) Old review: The pizza of your dreams!! The margherita with buffalo cheese exceeds expectations and the staff is kind and friendly. Good menu options for vegans and vegetarians. Must try the margherita with buffalo cheese:)

Could be better (needs improvement). I was recommended to visit by a friend. We ordered the signature award winning truffle pizza, since it's the signature pizza and the most expensive we were expecting a very nice pizza but unfortunately it was very similar to any other pizza you buy from the supermarket. It was very disappointing seeing the truffle but never taste it as it didn't have a truffle taste, no salt we wish we ordered something more basic like a margarita. * the dough itself tasted good but it was hard to eat it by hand nor by fork as it was very wet and thin. * the ingredients of the salad didn't match the ingredients in the menu (no seasoning at all and very oily). * truffle fries was very dry and no sauce was served with it, *prices in general are good and affordable. *I think the place have the potential to be better that's why I was disappointed. *pizzas are big sized which is nice but it shouldn't be touching the table as it comes in a way smaller plates so all the edges were laying on the table which is not hygienic at all and shouldn't be happening. * I would say the best thing was the staff, they were super friendly and very helpful, smiling and showing warmth and hospitality.

Great place and staff. But, to be 100% honest, the style of their pizza doesn't work. The dough was salty and it turns like a chewing gum after 1 minute you start eating the pizza, and the style of the pizza is extremely thin...so you can not eat it decently with a fork and knife or by hands. The other problem of this type of pizza is that the dough cook very fast, because they keep the temperature of the oven too high, so the ingredients don't cook well enough. The mozzarella is not partially dried, considering the thin dough, and that makes center of the pizza very wet...you feel like you're eating wet lasagne, not a pizza. The quality of the ingredients is good, but the quantity is limited on such a wide pizza that doesn't even fit in their plates (they could use custom made plates for the style of the pizza). The prices are similar to other pizzerias in Amsterdam (overpriced). They can improve, I'm sure the guys working there are totally capable of...but, at the moment, I don't feel like I can recommend this pizzeria to my friends because of the dough.

I visited this pizzeria in Amsterdam on a Saturday afternoon with three friends, and it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautifully designed the place was. The interior is warm and stylish, with a tasteful balance of modern touches and inviting charm. We chose to sit outside, and it couldn’t have been more perfect peaceful, spacious, and with a relaxed atmosphere that made us feel instantly at ease.

The ambiance was spot on: calm, welcoming, and effortlessly pleasant. There was soft music playing in the background just loud enough to set the mood, but never intrusive. It really felt like a little escape from the city, a place where you can settle in and just enjoy the moment.

The staff were wonderful too genuinely kind, attentive without being overbearing, and clearly passionate about what they do.

And then there was the pizza… absolutely incredible. The dough was soft and airy with that perfect Neapolitan chew, the tomato sauce was vibrant and fresh, the mozzarella melted beautifully, and the spicy salami had just the right kick. Honestly, the taste instantly transported me back to Naples. It was exactly like the original pizza from L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele that same authenticity, that same simplicity done perfectly.

This was more than just a lunch it was a full experience. From the food to the atmosphere to the service, everything was in harmony. We left feeling happy, full, and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for real Neapolitan pizza in Amsterdam, with the same soul and flavor as the original in Naples, this...

We missed this place when in Naples because of the long lines so we cannot compare this to that location. However, we did see that the Naples restaurant only serves 2 pizzas and they are both $5. At this location the menu is much larger and the pizzas range from 10.50+. We tried the Diavola and the Margarita as well as the fritto misto appetizer. The App was a 7/10 as it contained 4 different pieces and we enjoyed 2/4. The Diavola was good but the meat was much thicker than expected and it overpowered the delicious sauce and cheese. I had much better versions of this in Naples and in Amsterdam. The margarita pizza was delicious and much closer to everything we had in Italy. I would definitely recommend this simple pizza where you can enjoy the flavors not masked by toppings.

The location is in a cute, busy spot near the Albert Cuyp market. No cars are on the street, just pedestrians and bicycles. The outdoor area is narrow with several tables. We were there when it was raining and were able to avoid getting soaked in the outdoor area. Indoors has the instagram-worthy interior where you see most of the pictures people post from. It’s very cute.

Service was good. Everyone we met was Italian and there were other Italian people sitting around who seemed to be friends or in their community. It was fun to see their interactions.

Overall, the food was good enough that I would like to go back and try a few more things that looked enticing on the menu as well as get another...

The ambiance is trashy and the kitchen staff is unprofessional. Loud italian rap music made conversations difficult. Got worse when the kitchen staff started singing throughout the restaurant. One chef (likely the head chef) who was walking back and forth in the restaurant, singing at the top of his lungs, acting like he "owns" the place. It was beyond rude; it was obnoxious and disrespectful to the guests.

While the pizzas were delicious, the overall dining experience was tainted by the constant distraction of entitled behavior. The server's explanation that "the kitchen is Italian" as an excuse for the unprofessional behavior is offensive to all Italians and their culture. Such behavior is unacceptable in any restaurant setting, regardless of cultural background.

Service was fast. It was clear they were also tired of the kitchen’s nonsense. Left a tip even though the experience was bad, but as someone who worked in a hospitality in the past, felt sorry for the guys.

We won't be returning or placing any orders. The pizzas were soggy in the middle, and considering the delivery process, they would likely become even more so.

There are many other places in Amsterdam with great Neapolitan pizzas and with a pleasant dining atmosphere. Hopefully, improvements will be made, otherwise, locals will...
