I visited this pizzeria in Amsterdam on a Saturday afternoon with three friends, and it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautifully designed the place was. The interior is warm and stylish, with a tasteful balance of modern touches and inviting charm. We chose to sit outside, and it couldn’t have been more perfect peaceful, spacious, and with a relaxed atmosphere that made us feel instantly at ease.
The ambiance was spot on: calm, welcoming, and effortlessly pleasant. There was soft music playing in the background just loud enough to set the mood, but never intrusive. It really felt like a little escape from the city, a place where you can settle in and just enjoy the moment.
The staff were wonderful too genuinely kind, attentive without being overbearing, and clearly passionate about what they do.
And then there was the pizza… absolutely incredible. The dough was soft and airy with that perfect Neapolitan chew, the tomato sauce was vibrant and fresh, the mozzarella melted beautifully, and the spicy salami had just the right kick. Honestly, the taste instantly transported me back to Naples. It was exactly like the original pizza from L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele that same authenticity, that same simplicity done perfectly.
This was more than just a lunch it was a full experience. From the food to the atmosphere to the service, everything was in harmony. We left feeling happy, full, and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for real Neapolitan pizza in Amsterdam, with the same soul and flavor as the original in Naples, this...
Read moreWe missed this place when in Naples because of the long lines so we cannot compare this to that location. However, we did see that the Naples restaurant only serves 2 pizzas and they are both $5. At this location the menu is much larger and the pizzas range from 10.50+. We tried the Diavola and the Margarita as well as the fritto misto appetizer. The App was a 7/10 as it contained 4 different pieces and we enjoyed 2/4. The Diavola was good but the meat was much thicker than expected and it overpowered the delicious sauce and cheese. I had much better versions of this in Naples and in Amsterdam. The margarita pizza was delicious and much closer to everything we had in Italy. I would definitely recommend this simple pizza where you can enjoy the flavors not masked by toppings.
The location is in a cute, busy spot near the Albert Cuyp market. No cars are on the street, just pedestrians and bicycles. The outdoor area is narrow with several tables. We were there when it was raining and were able to avoid getting soaked in the outdoor area. Indoors has the instagram-worthy interior where you see most of the pictures people post from. It’s very cute.
Service was good. Everyone we met was Italian and there were other Italian people sitting around who seemed to be friends or in their community. It was fun to see their interactions.
Overall, the food was good enough that I would like to go back and try a few more things that looked enticing on the menu as well as get another...
Read moreThe ambiance is trashy and the kitchen staff is unprofessional. Loud italian rap music made conversations difficult. Got worse when the kitchen staff started singing throughout the restaurant. One chef (likely the head chef) who was walking back and forth in the restaurant, singing at the top of his lungs, acting like he "owns" the place. It was beyond rude; it was obnoxious and disrespectful to the guests.
While the pizzas were delicious, the overall dining experience was tainted by the constant distraction of entitled behavior. The server's explanation that "the kitchen is Italian" as an excuse for the unprofessional behavior is offensive to all Italians and their culture. Such behavior is unacceptable in any restaurant setting, regardless of cultural background.
Service was fast. It was clear they were also tired of the kitchen’s nonsense. Left a tip even though the experience was bad, but as someone who worked in a hospitality in the past, felt sorry for the guys.
We won't be returning or placing any orders. The pizzas were soggy in the middle, and considering the delivery process, they would likely become even more so.
There are many other places in Amsterdam with great Neapolitan pizzas and with a pleasant dining atmosphere. Hopefully, improvements will be made, otherwise, locals will...
