The Fixxx by Maiden — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Stayed at Motel One right next door. Visited The Fix twice at breakfast time. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese and jam. There was no cream cheese to speak of and the jam was a low-grade affair, all pectin and sugar and unnatural stickiness and the bagel, well, should this New Yorker order a bagel in Europe? Probably not. It approximately looked like a bagel.

What struck me, however, was how unpleasant the staff was, one tall young man who was obviously in training, didn’t crack a smile, one woman in particular, large and with big hair, sent shivers down my spine she was so ice-cold. She may have been a bot. The espressos...

The two rudest young women work here. One with dyed hair and another with curly hair. Around opening, I walked in and I asked to be seated as they were standing at the hostess stand/desk (never been here before and new to Amsterdam) and the girl replied and huffed "this is not a restaurant" and smirked and then turned to her coworker and shook her head and made a face, which I saw. They were standing there and there was no one at the front of the cafe so asking was logical. I didn't even sit down, I just left. My money doesn't need to be spent here....

Cute coffee shop near our hotel. Small area for outdoor seating, medium size area for indoor seating (front of shop) and large working area with kitchen in the back. The service was good as the barista was kind and patient. The pastries were decent but not great. The cafe drinks were good. The presentation of both coffee and pastry were nice. The atmosphere of this place was the show stopper for me. Nice place to work, meet friends...
