Toastable Nieuwendijk — Restaurant in Amsterdam

If you’re in Amsterdam and want more than just a coffee or a quick bite, Toastable is the place to go. The moment you walk in, you don’t just step into a café. Their toasts are truly exceptional, crispy, golden, and generously filled with fresh, high-quality ingredients that make every bite memorable. The coffee is smooth and perfectly prepared, and the bakery selection adds that extra touch of indulgence. But what really makes Toastable special is the atmosphere. It’s not just about the food (though it is delicious); it’s about how it all comes together. I was welcomed by Nikos, with Alice and Nesar working alongside him, and the three of them created a feeling that went far beyond service. Their positive energy, warm smiles, and teamwork give the place a vibrant yet relaxed charm. Nikos makes sure you feel both cared for and at home. In a city full of cafés, Toastable stands out not only for the quality of its food but for the spirit of the people who make it such a joy to visit. These people turn a small visit into something memorable...and that's somehting you can't...

The venue its-self was very nice and cozy. It had a very welcome and dutch vibe. Enough seating spots despite the small venue. For 3 people trying to get lunch: this place is perfect.

The service: The staff was very friendly, open for multi-language conversation. Both English and Dutch were well spoken by the staff, and their kind and helpful spirits sure do make the place feel more at home. Props!

The Food: We ordered: The Legend Tosti, which is a rich tosti with perfectly molten cheese, very succulent and well cooked chicken, and the sauce matched the dish splendidly. If you’re a chicken lover the Legend Tosti is your no. 1 choice. The Bacon was well baked, wasn’t too hard to chew and soft which matched the soft and heavenly taste of the dish. Me and my comrades were in love with this tosti. Or also known as toast.

All in all this place is great to crash in Amsterdam and I’d definitely recommend this place to everyone trying to find some...

The food was good. The staff seemed unhappy we were there. We brought it a small cup of tea from our hotel. We were told outside drink was not allowed. We said oh, OK, and started to leave when we were told not sit down, but they're not the only ones in Amsterdam with this rule, and something I didn't catch about Starbucks (I don't know, we didn't have Starbucks). From there it just seemed like they were not happy we were there. If not drinks are allowed that's fine. Tell us to chuck it or come back later instead of having us stay and bring weird about it.
