Tandr — Restaurant in The Hague

It is one of those restaurants located on the side of the The Hague municipality building that you pass by walking through the center thinking, "mmm, great location, but the food is probably not very good and over-priced." We were pleasantly surprised!

This authentic Turkish restaurant has some of the best fresh, authentic mezze dishes! We had a variety of tappa dishes with flatbread that were tasteful and not oily. We really liked the chunky, low fat hummus that was clearly better than any supermarket brand.

We had a small portion of lambs ribs that were well spiced and 2 pantile that were deliciously grilled. One was with potato and one with spinach and cheese. In total, it was all total about 30 euros and the serving was more than enough for 2 people.

The restaurant is quite popular and when we were there half the seating was reserved. So I would recommend to do the same.

Tandr is the place if you want to eat fresh and healthy mediteranian food. No greasy kebabs here. Food is prepared in a special clay oven called "tandr". If you don't like fries with your meal try the tomato bulghur. They also serve soups and tasty wraps with your meat of choice. Earlier I rated this restaurant higher. But I got fed up with the service, it is just bad. People who work here don't know the meaning of hospitality. Amateuristic attitude, no professional horeca back ground, somuch is clear.
