Cosmo Cafe — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

Went here for breakfast for birthday with wife I ordered my usual Cosmo Big Breakfast and wife ordered eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce on the side. Service from the gentleman was cold and unwelcoming even when I tried to make conversation as we went there not just because we enjoyed their food but to support their business. Food came out and the eggs Benedict doesn't even have eggs? They have ended up on my plate with my big breakfast and then hardly touching her breakfast there is a hair in the side dish of hollandaise sauce and 1 on a mushroom! I kept my cool and discretely took the dish back to the gentleman and showed him the hairs. With no apology he just asked if i wanted another one I paused and told him yes please. After this the food didn't go down all to well and its almost as if he was expecting us to apologize for our findings here today. Walked into this cafe this morning, wasnt a welcoming environment, decor looked out dated, standing at the counter & the asian guy was making coffee during this time & seemed unfriendly & I was told too wait, had two females out the back making food, waited for about 5 minutes I still wasnt served by anyone yet & waited, looked around & saw a number of tables with numbers that hadnt received their food, just the looks on the customers faces waiting for their food said it all, looked behind the counter which had a few flies & it wasnt clean on the bench top, an establishment with an "A" the cleanliness of the place did not seem up to scratch, tables had not been cleared with no place to sit, I could tell that it was going to be the longest wait, purchased two cans of coke & left, not a very pleasant experience & wouldnt recommend this place despite its...

The quality of the food is not to bad as for the quantity can be abit pricey for what it is...i bought a grilled chicken as a side dish, and it cost $10 for half of a small chicken breast which made the small saucer plate it came on, look like a dinner plate, the young man is friendly but the older guy never smiles or approachable but if that doesnt bother you than i guess its an ok place to catch up for coffee with friends or while waiting for your clothes as theres 2...
