The Food Kitchen — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

They weren’t too busy, my partner & I walked over & grabbed a seat. Realised we had no menus, so I stood up and joined the queue to grab a menu from the staff. Got to the front of the queue & asked the lady whom was serving at the register if I could grab a menu and she replied abruptly “ we don’t have any” and stood there staring at me “anthing else” So I replied slightly confused by her rude response and asked I assume we use the specials posted on the wall? And she replied “yea!”. I was not going to stand hovering over other people while they were eating to be able to see their menu clearly and decide what to eat. I wasn’t expecting this unpleasant type of service based on the google review score. So we left and went to cosmo across the road, so much more spacious and the customer service was professional and polite :) glad...

✨ Sunday Lunch at The Food Kitchen – Always a Favourite! ✨

After a beautiful Sunday morning at church, we headed over to The Food Kitchen for a relaxing lunch – one of our go-to spots whenever we’re in Manukau!

We kept it simple this time and ordered the bacon & egg on toast, fettuccine carbonara, and a side of kumara chips with sour cream. As always, every dish was fresh, tasty, and hit the spot. The bacon and eggs were cooked just right, the pasta was creamy and satisfying, and those kumara chips… yum – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfect with that sour cream.

The atmosphere is always welcoming and the service is friendly, making it a great spot to wind down and enjoy a good meal. Definitely one of our regular favourites in...

Had brunch here & ordered the Traditional fish and chips freshly crumbed hoki served with chips & fresh green salad with a lemon wedge & tartare sauce, firstly the meal did not look appealing at all, you could not help but notice the chipped plate on both sides, secondly the hoki fish was not fresh at all, it tasted like it was straight out of a box, the tartare sauce was sour & the salad was drenched in vinaigrette, it was not appetizing at all, heavily over priced for $18.90 considering I did not finish the meal & only ate the fries, should have only ordered fries, I was at this place years ago with friends & the standard has dropped considerably, will not...
