Teppanyaki has always been one of those must try culinary experiences. The chef stands behind a counter made of very hot metal plate, and he prepares the food right in front of you with amazing speed and precision. WIth the sound, smell and fire amplifying all your senses.

Bowz has been my favourite teppanyaki for years, unlike the big franchises with lots of teppan stations they only have one teppan station in the centre of the restaurant, pretty much like a setting you would see in a bar but just replacing large section of the bar table with piping hot metal plate and their food I have to say is much better compared to other teppan restaurants. The main reason that makes Bowz my favourite teppanyaki is because of the taste of their food and how focus the chef is over the entire preparation process. Not just putting up a show to amuse the guests.

Over the years, they have improved on their presentation. It used to be about the taste of the food and the culinary show, but I was pleasantly surprised that all of their food now looks good as well as tasting good.

One small tweak would make teppanyaki experience even more enjoyable is a stronger air extraction system. The smell of grease is almost overwhelming, it would be much nicer to step into a restaurant with...

I have been a loyal patron of BOWZ since its inception, and I can confidently say that it is undoubtedly the best in Auckland!

The food at this restaurant is truly exceptional. The skilled chef showcase his talent and precision as his expertly prepare the Tenpanyaki right before your eyes. The sizzling sounds and tantalizing aromas create an anticipation that is surpassed only by the incredible flavors that await. Each dish is a masterpiece, cooked to perfection, and bursting with delectable flavors that leave you wanting more.

What sets this restaurant apart is their unwavering commitment to constantly upgrading the details. Every visit brings something new and exciting to the table, whether it's an innovative twist on a classic dish or a seasonal creation that showcases the freshest ingredients. The dedication to quality and innovation is evident in every bite, and it keeps me coming back for more.

In addition to the outstanding food, the service at this restaurant is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient. They go above and beyond to ensure that your dining experience is seamless...

I am a sushi chef. I have not written a negative review to a restaurant before, however, according to the very bad experience I had at Bowz, I would like to share this with the public.

Food: The sashimi selection is not fresh; all the fish must have been stocked for over 3 days.

The Kina was the least fresh thing I ever had in all of NZ; it already smells bad. If it's not fresh, why serve it to the guests?

All the other fishes were poorly prepared. The chef didn't even know how to properly slice the fish. I give the skill zero star.

The yellowfin tuna and crayfish were frozen, and the crayfish must be under 500g, but it costs 135 dollars? (In NZ, would you like to spend $250 for 1kg of frozen crayfish?)

The hygiene conditions are definitely not good; I did not see any professional dishwasher in their kitchen.

The front-of-house service is very poor.

If you are looking for a comfortable dining environment at the same price point, you will have so many...

First time trying here. We had the 5 courses menu with the scotch fillet and the yellow fin as main. The entree/appetiser was interesting. They give you 8 different choices of food, ranging from tofu, egg and sashimi. The sashimi was fresh and most of the other dishes was ok. The second course was miso soup which had a nice piece of prawn and grilled salmon in it which adds taste to the soup, quite a nice idea definitely to make miso soup more fancier. The next course was grilled veges which I enjoyed a lot. My favourite part of it was the eggplant and the corn. They give some torched yum yum sauce as garnish and to dip with the veges. The main course was scotch fillet and lightly grilled yellow fin tuna. The tuna had good char taste and the scotch fillet was not bad and comes with a bunch of condiment to dip. Dessert was sorbet which we liked the matcha flavour one. Overall chef was good, cooks fast and well. Service was very good here also. Will recommend.

You may have the most authentic experience here for Teppanyaki in Auckland 🔥 . Lazy as me I chose the 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗨𝗫𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡. . Okay let me just go straight to the point. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 “𝗪𝗮𝗴𝘆𝘂” 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳 - the wag yu beef cube literally started to melt on my tongue once I put it into my mouth! Either simply dipping it with a bit salt or sauce, each bit can me feel the beef how soft it is. 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 (𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗳) - tasted tender. . The rest of the dishes were alright. If I visit the place again, I might not get the sashimi but Wagyu beef. I felt a little bit disappointed for the mocha cake. It’s pretty average. . The restaurant actually is not really big. It’s good for four people go together and have good yawns. I wouldn’t recommend families with children go there, cos the food preparation actually takes quite long. We started at 6pm and finally finished around 9ish. . The experience here really encourages me to go to visit Japan! Looking forward to visiting Japan and trying their local food.

Nice and cosy teppanyaki restaurant. Foods are delicious and accompanied by perfectly matched sauce. We ordered their dinner set. First came a plate of 9 different types of entree and seafood miso soup, and then it's the teppan main dish, salmon is done with a crispy skin, perfectly done A5 wagu, then completes with dessert. If you tell them it's a birthday dinner when you book, they will make a special dessert for the birthday guy! Today our birthday boy got a moist and rich Japanese cheese cake along with his ice-cream! Their chef and waitresses are very polite and attentive, also very sensitive to customers needs. Definitely coming back!
