Awesome variety unfortunately, the food we ordered was overhyped, overrated and overpriced. Ordered the Chicken/bacon/mushroom potato top (best seller), pulled pork pie, steak and cheese potato top, Pumpkin/Ginger soup, seafood chowder, Mini bacon/egg quiche, cream donuts and Mocha frappe + mango smoothie.

The seafood chowder was disgusting. It came out with a film on it, as if microwaved and straight to the table. It was FULL of chunks of veges (pumpkin, corn, carrots, peas etc) and seafood was almost non existent. I found 4 pieces of Mussel (made up 1 whole mussel) and 2 tiny shrimp. We took it home thinking we’d eat it when starving but ended up throwing it away. The chicken/bacon/mushroom pie was the nicest thing we ate but I couldn’t find mushroom. Pulled pork pie was dark orange in colour and didn’t taste like you’d expect for pulled pork. Mini quiches were fine, nothing special. Only get the pumpkin soup if you like Ginger as the Ginger was overpowering (I liked the soup). The first Mocha frappe I ordered was really nice and the lady was really friendly/smiley and attentive despite it being lunch rush hour. After the rush, I ordered another to take away from another server and it was the complete opposite, no smile, wasn’t friendly and she seemed annoyed when putting the transaction through. I said thank you and she just looked away while yelling my order across the room. When it came it didn’t taste the same, was bland, had more coffee in it and less chocolate. It’s Sad - the level of service differs amongst staff, food is overpriced (spent $93 for WHAT) and overall inconsistency in quality. Hardly any parking but that was the least of my concern after the above. This place was recommended but I won’t be...

The Bakers cottage is good. Decent pies, salads, sandwiches, cakes and treats. I'd love to give these guys 5 stars but there are a few recurring pain points that happen every time i go: Parking is a hassle, being in a popular area street parking is limited and there are only three carparks within the property, be prepared to drive up and down the street. Not the nicest environment to eat in. Bakeries are traditionally takeaway, so it is nice for The Baker's Cottage to offer tables and chairs, but often they are dirty and unattended. You basically have to clean up after the previous customers if you want to sit at a table. Prices are quite high for what you get. Don't get me wrong, the food is good! These guys know how to make food - but the price for what is essentially bakery food is quite high. No contactless payments. Come on guys, this is 2020. It is disappointing to see that you still do not accept paywave. Even during the Covid lockdown, banks offered small businesses to use contactless payments for free, but for some reason these guys refuse to sign on. Stressed staff. Okay, I do have to admit that I usually come during peak hours (lunchtime), but even then the poor staff always look super stressed. I think it must be difficult to work in such a noisy environment with quite a few other staff in the back fulfilling customer orders. You're doing a great job guys!

Overall, this place does good bakery food, but there are areas that need...

Nicely positioned in Kingsland, The Bakers Cottage became a delightful hangout during my recent visits, each time accompanied by the warm company of a friend. Our purpose was simple: to enjoy good coffee and relax over a delicious bite.

The ambiance is cozy, inviting laughter and conversation, making it the perfect backdrop for our gatherings. I savored the grilled Chicken Avocado baguette on my first visit, where the flavors danced together beautifully, and the second time, the Pesto Chicken in a whole-bread bun was equally satisfying. Each bite was a reminder of the joy that comes from good food and great company.

While the prices are quite reasonable, making it an easy choice to return, I believe there’s potential for even greater quality. A touch more creativity with toppings, a selection of healthier desserts, and perhaps a variety of sourdough breads could truly elevate the experience.

In the end, I wholeheartedly recommend The Bakers Cottage for a casual meal and a comforting cup of coffee. It’s a place where simple pleasures come together, and I look forward to...

Food Glorious Food ! Dont mind paying a lil more for great food, this bakery has got it covered. Pies are scrumptious and yes ! Believe or Not it has big chunks of real meat, with real gravey! There is also a amazing menu to chose from. The salad selection on display is incredible, full of flavour, fresh any yummo! Sandwiches, paninis, bagels , savouries you name it...Bakers Cottage wont disappoint. Selection of slices and sweets , and the cakes...oh lord..the selection of devine cakes is like nothing I have seen in a huge cabinet from lil cakes, med and large. They are so beautifully and tastefully decorated...believe me you will find the best cakes , birthday or for any occasion stop ...here. ! Selection of drinks available and the coffee, prob best around. Can be a bit of a wait, but its worth it.
