Not a very good experience for my partner and myself last night. We decided to come to Winnie Bagoes in the City because I am a part of their loyalty program and I received a free pizza coupon for my birthday. We arrived at the restaurant and waited at the maitre d‘ for a couple of minutes before being seated. I asked the young waitress at this time if it was ok to use my birthday voucher because we didn’t call ahead and book first. She said yes. While looking over the menu and double checking my app that had the coupon I saw there was another coupon in my “rewards” for 50% off the pizza of the month. I discussed with my boyfriend at this stage and we decided to get that pizza as well so long as it was ok. When the waitress returned to take our order I asked her while showing her the app again whether it was ok if we got both deals. She said yes again. - this is where the night went wrong. After waiting at the maître d’ for another 5 minutes to pay at the end of our night we were waved to the bar to settle our bill. The barman was having trouble with our coupons so called for the manager who wasn’t around anywhere. We waited another 5 minutes or so for the manager to come and help us settle our bill. The manager told us there was no way to use both coupons on the same transaction. -Wait what? But I asked the waitress before we ordered. After having a discussion over it got several minutes she finally arranged the discount which she said was impossible at the start. I made sure that she knew I had asked the waitress beforehand and that she had said yes. The manager blamed it on “not enough training” and if we come back to order food again we should “ask for the manager directly if we can use the coupons”. It’s not good enough and it was embarrassing for me as well.
Overall: bad training, slow service and not good customer relations from the...
Read moreI was really disappointed with how our reservation went. We made a reservation for 18:00 and received a confirmation email for the booking stating that the booking was made for us to enjoy our table from 18:00 to 19:30. Upon arrival, we were informed that there was another reservation made for our table for 19:00, and that they required us to return the table by 18:50 as they need time to clean and reset the table. Once we were at the table, we promptly decided our order and had to wait about 10 minutes to be able to put our order in. While service was quick (we were able to enjoy an entree and two pizzas with a side of fries), you could tell that quality was sacrificed in order to ensure that we were able to be out of the restaurant on their time. We felt rushed and it was not a very pleasant experience. Overall the service and attitude of the staff were below average and was not the standard that I had previously experienced at the restaurant. We would have loved to be able to enjoy a full meal and had planned to order a dessert each, but had to go elsewhere due to the time constraint. I would have understood the time limit if we had been a walk-in, but we specifically made a reservation to ensure that we could dine there. We both feel rather disappointed by the situation and would not go back. Definitely gone down hill since we lived in...
Read moreMy family and I were really looking forward to our dinner - eight of us celebrating my youngest daughter’s 17th birthday last night (Saturday 18th May). Unfortunately our experience wasn’t as expected. We had lengthy wait times for first drink orders, then it seemed an age before our meal orders were taken. Two of the party ordered a side of fries to their main meal, which arrived long before the meals and had to be eaten before they went cold. Then, two of the mains (that weren’t pizzas) arrived, again at least ten minutes before the first pizzas were delivered to the table. I’d ordered the Lamb Salad, which sounded amazing on the menu. For $26 I would have expected something larger than the entree sized meal I got, and I had to search to the bottom of the salad to find the tiny amount of slivered lamb that was present. The presentation was almost “upside down” in that all the lettuce was on top, and the small amount of feta, sundried tomatoes, and pine nuts were underneath that, along with the lamb. Once our mains were finished we waited and waited after the plates removed for someone to offer to take dessert orders . This didn’t eventuate so we got up, paid for our meals and left, unsatisfied at our experience. Such a shame that a birthday celebration was marred by poor service and relatively...
