Let me preface this review by saying that I don't hate this supermarket whatsoever, it's often my go-to whenever I'm coming home from work via central city and the prices are decent when things are on sale. However, the experience I had yesterday with the security guard left such a horrid taste in my mouth that I feel people need to be aware of just in case this security guard in particular happens to be working the day you go in. Firstly, as soon as we walked through the door, this great lummox of a man halted our entry and very rudely demanded that we showed our empty supermarket bags to him (it was as if he had never seen a tote bag before, in a SUPERMARKET, no less!). If that wasn't bad enough, when we had made our purchases and were ready to leave, the collosal waste of space grabs hold of our trolley and refused to let us leave with it, despite the fact that we parked in the car parking building next to the shopping center where you are able to return the trolley after use. I'm not sure if the guy was just a bit slow in the head or whether he had some sort of superiority complex (or both, for that matter), but if he's the kind of person that FreshChoice City Market are employing, then you have to wonder what kind of business the management is trying to run. I don't like writing such horrible words about a person or business, but I was so thoroughly annoyed by the whole experience that it deserves to be said. I sorely hope the management reads this and decides to...
Read moreI purchased a simple bread roll from Fresh choice and then ran into my girlfriend outside the store I came back in eating my purchased bread roll from there store while my girlfriend was ordering pasta for lunch from there deli and the owner told me I couldn’t eat in the store, I then pointed out that there is a cafe in store as well as the serve prepared foods so how come you can sell hot prepared food but can’t eat there. Also there are tables and chairs to sit and I assume you eat at a table? I was treated disrespectfully and as a thief and that was a terrible customer experience, he then told me how we do it in NZ hearing my Amercan accent which I found Culturely insensitive I then threw my bread down on the ground upset and left which I apologise I shouldn’t have done but in the heat of the moment I was upset. There must have been a easier way to talk to me or prevent that but the owner didn’t spend the time and care just a quick profile and treated me terribly and out comes a bad experience for the both of us. I would say I wish somebody could address this would be nice but seeing as that’s the owner well then not much I assume will come from this. So whatever I’ll leave my bad review and carry on. As for the poor store associate that picked up my bread I’m sorry you got the back...
Read moreToday me and my friends went to buy Cashews and banana chips where you scoop them up into the bag and pay by the weight. We put them both in one bag not realizing that it had different codes and prices on each item. When we went to pay one of the workers (a lady) came over saying we can't do that and have to pay the full weight for both the price of the banana chips and cashews. What would originally be $3.50, would now be $7. And us being 15 year old girls didn't have enough money because we weren't prepared to pay that much. When we explained to her that we couldn't pay that much she said we didn't have a choice and called us theives. I let her know that legally we aren't stealing unless we've left the store with the item, but she ignored me completely. I continued to ask her what would make it easier for us and for her next time this happens, and if that was to sepperate both items in different bags. She turned her head and ignored me the 3 times I asked her this question and continues to call us theives. Then she continued to call the manager on us, he came over, very lovely and told us what to do next time and explained that it's a loss on the company, she then came over again and yelled at him saying we had to pay. Thankfully the manager helped us...
