Moment Cafe — Restaurant in Christchurch

EDITED: I decided to try this place again after almost 6 months. I'm glad I did. The smashed avacado dish for lunch was so tasty. The price is what you'd expect to pay at most cafes. It could have done with a little more rosti but that is just being picky. It was just a really well rounded tasty dish. My friend really enjoyed her coffee and her chicken burger. There is a little more decor happening now so it doesn't feel so sterile. So glad that it has improved.

TLDR: Good: Food has good flavour and quality Iced drinks are overpriced but taste good and feel better for you Staff are friendly and accommodating Not so good: Seating could be more comfortable, has the same loud atmosphere/feel as it's predecessor Tap n Grind.

Came here for brunch, food didn't take too long, was pleasant and enjoyable to eat. Presentation is always real on point. I wish they had the money to invest in a new seating arrangement with booths that were more comfortable, as well as reducing some of the loud noises. Maybe you cant trust reviews. Rather than return to some old haunts I searched for 4.5 star plus cafes for this Christchurch visit and chose two. The other one was only just 4.5 star but was stunning in design, food and coffee. Moment shows 4.7 stars and had way less ambience, and as for the food..... I had little time so ordered from the counter. The English muffin was like you get in the supermarket. The 'chicken' was reconstituted stuff (like dog roll), and it was microwaved (ie glow in the dark followed by turning into something like an old boot).
