錢門塘 Qian Mentang Restaurant — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

Horrible service!! We had lunch there, initially very happy to try a new open restaurant. The waitress was absolutely rude! She was talking and chatting to chef in the kitchen all the time, with very loud voice. We tried to call her for some forks, and she said "you take yourself", while there's only one table (us) in the restaurant that time, and she had absolutely nothing to do, but she wouldnt bring us a plate, bowl etc. The portions of food was extremely small, taste was mediocre. When we paid the bill, she didn't look at us, and she didn't say a word. Horrible restaurant, DO NOT GO, you would be much better off just buying hamburger...

I'm sorry to have to give you a negative review but your food was not good. The rice was stodgy. The sweet and sour pork ribs were little round gooey gristle.The salty chicken was cold, more than room temperature cold which was really not what I expected. I expected it to be warm, and it was really hard to eat because of all the tiny bones which got stuck in our teeth. I ordered the salty chicken but I'm wondering if or was duck!? It felt like it was just all slapped together, no love in the cooking and then warmed in a microwave!!. We will definitely not eat here again. The lady was super friendly and seemed to get our requests mindfully but no food came out as we specifically requested. Then the male staff who served the food didn’t seem to understand what we requested and we had to chase him several times.(The lady who initially got our orders was too busy to talk to other people and didn’t take any notice at all.)

Anyway the food was okay and when we came to the counter to pay, that lady smiled and said that we’re getting discount then charged us $60 for 3 dishes. On the way out I checked the menu and realised we only should have paid $57. Very weird experience and I would...
