I don't usually post reviews but the service I received from this place was just atrocious. I had a clamped up mussel which I could not pry open and informed the staff that it wasn't fresh. She popped back into the kitchen and came out with the same mussel but forced open this time. The meat was stuck to the shell and there was a strong fishy smell coming from the mussel itself. So I informed her again about the issues with the mussel and this time the boss himself came out from the kitchen with the same mussel.

In a very condescending tone, he aggressively insisted that the mussels are bought fresh from the market every morning and even took the mussel to his nose for a deep sniff to prove his point. My dining companion very kindly told him that we were just informing him and it could be just this one mussel out of the batch of mussels. But he continued to angrily and unapologetically insist that his mussel was fresh.

It was truly an unnecessarily upsetting experience and overall the food wasn't good enough for...

I have been here before at least 4 times . However I have always ordered bossam or cold noodles , spicy squid and was really happy about it .

But today I m really surprised how it turned out . About fried chicken It’s really soggy ….. not crunchy at all Very different than other Korean fried chicken I have ever had . The quality of chicken thighs is pretty succulent, but the cook method is really disappointing! Very disappointing, please improve your formulation 😖 Bossam : today is pork is really dry and hard to chew … 2/5

Amazing spicy radish as always . The fish cake and the soup is really fishy in a very strong way ..::: I can’t have any ……. But the bean sprouts and Kimichi are always delish .

Been here now & again over the last 14 years it’s been around a long time, not sure has changed names but this is a solid standing eatery in Taka’s, & for a awesome but casual Korean feed this is the place. Just dropped in for the first time in 2021 & yet again remarkably impressed. Great prompt service, just perfect Kai. Definitely give it a go if you like your Asian food! Quite casual & straight to the point, usually Takapuna can be a put off with all the flash stuff but this is one of the many little gems hidden in there for all of us normal people! Thanks guys see you again sometime when back in Auckland.
