Ordered after the new ownership take over from Sigdis, portion sizes were smaller, prices are higher. I understand with new ownership comes sweeping change however, when ordering I asked if they offer combos like what Sigdis did, they answered yes! Usually this would consist of 2 Poppadoms, 1 naan, 1 can of drink and obviously the curry and rice. After receiving my meal (takeaway) I found the portion sizes were smaller, and the 'double serving' of rice is just barely a quarter size larger than the curry serving. There were no Poppadoms included, drink and naan were no problem. Upon calling the restaurant back to inquire whats going on, they advise me they don't in-fact do combos anymore, and I should be happy with what I got for the price. The assumed manager or new owner offered to make new poppadoms for me to collect. I don't live close enough to justify driving back to collect them after a long week. I then questioned the rice and curry size serving and was informed usually they would charge more for the order I made. I ordered two combos which usually would cost $24 each totaling $48 dollars per their website (Screenshot included). I was, on the other hand charged $51 and informed they would normally charge over $60 for what I got! Needless to say I was quite gobsmacked by what they had told me. I tried to explain it would have been nice to be informed about them not doing combo orders before taking my order and paying for it. I was told they didn't know about the combos from the previous owners, clearly not doing their research before their business takeover. I expressed again it would have been nice to know about it, then they hung up on me. No apology from them for being rude, I was merely voicing my opinions and give feedback. Its unfortunate as I was a very regular customer of Sigdis and this is the way things have turned out. I'm now going to take my business elsewhere and suggest you lot do too.
Edit after owner response: You had my phone number and ample time to inform me of the issues. This...
Read moreJust moved into the area and thought we would try out the local indian food.
We ordered a mild butter chicken, garlic and cheese naan, and also a butter naan.
The atmosphere upon pickup was good, the restaurant looked nice and clean and the person serving was nice and friendly. The food was prepared quickly and was nice and hot even after the drive home.
The portion size was enough for two but I have paid less for more elsewhere, the taste was okay but nothing to write home about. There was a really strong flavour of one spice I can't put a name to just taking over everything else unfortunately.
The Naan were rather pricey for the size, and my garlic and cheese naan didn't have much cheese on it, but lots of garlic.
Over all it wasn't bad food, just average really. The price is probably what will make us look elsewhere, and we also have a place just a bit longer of a drive away that makes my absolute favourite butter chicken.
Edit: My partner just had quite an uncomfortable experience where the store used her number from the order to call her and offer free food in exchange for changing to a 4 star review.
Please do not do this, it's very uncomfortable.
My review is an honest reflection of my experience with the food, and giving me more won't change that and shouldn't...
Read moreWe tried Khana last weekend as we are new in the area and it is really close to our house. Food was great and the waiter was attentive and friendly. Although I asked for a wine recommendation and he did seem a little bit lost - maybe learn your wine list :) Some people commented on the portion size - I found them to be plenty (from our dine in experience) as indian food tends to be quite heavy in my opinion. We were both full and I even got to take some home for next day's lunch. Was great even reheated. Price was good for the quality - especially as we took advantage of the early bird discount! Please please keep that discount as it will make us very frequent guests with you! :)
Edit: Adjusting the review after a few visits. Unfortunately the food and service is very inconsistent, sometimes really great and sometimes less than...
