Sigdi Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

This restaurant has had multiple owners over the last decade, affecting both the style and the quality of the food. We hadn't eaten here in several years and the staff and management are all new. They were friendly and efficient, and the food was very good. We like our food hot, and in NZ a request for "hot" is often disappointing. This food was not -- very nice! Might have been too hot but for the raita.

It's not easy to order carry-out because the menu is presented differently and the online pdf seems to be out of date, though both offer standard northern Indian cuisine. Every dish we ordered -- baingan, rogan josh and channa masala -- was very tasty. The baingan was wonderful. The pakoras were very nice. In short, it was an excellent meal. We have since tried carry-out, and it was again exceptional.

I've never written a review on Google for a restaurant before but I felt compelled to leave a positive review for Sigdi.

My lovely girlfriend and I have had sigdi delivered twice and we've eaten in once. The food has been consistently incredible.

We were particularly impressed when we dined in. Great, cosy atmosphere, awesome service. The people working there work hard to put on a smile and be friendly, which we all know is a difficult thing to do on a Friday night after a hard week!

I had an eggplant curry, never had anything like it before. Sigdi's food seems to have a unique twist on things.

The takeaway menu is also great, again, tge flavours are not your typical curries, was nice to get complimentary poppadoms, and they actually gave a decent amount of rice which a lot of places skimp on.

Anyway highly recommended sigdi, best food I've had in devonport and amongst the best Indian...

Sigdi was amazing. The food was incredible and somehow the service was better.

I’m dairy free and they were very helpful and offered any of curries to be substituted with coconut cream and was thorough to check if it was an allergy and pointed out all traces. They made sure that all changes were welcomed and you don’t feel like a pain which was really refreshing.
