This surprisingly good French bistro needs our support. If you have any inclination towards French cuisine this is a must visit. On principle I don't give 5 stars but would give 9 if this rating was out of 10. Service was swift & well attuned to the needs of the Shakespeare in the Park attendees, with weather updates & other information that put these diners at ease. A small quibble the "Champagne" listed was actually Methode but we already kind of figured that by the very reasonable price, even for that variety. Otherwise the menu was as advertised being French bistro style. We had the cheese & bread entree which as cheese & bread lovers really hit the spot straight away, bread grilled or perhaps fried in butter, rich & creamy blue vein style cheese & another milder white cheese with an edible rind whose name escapes me. I had the duck breast main that came with some raviolis & a stunningly rich pate mousse dollop of exquisiteness. Duck is the most underrated red meat on the planet outside of France & this was perfectly cooked. Our other main was a mushroom ravioli which hit all of the right spots being rich & very mushroomy flavour-some .
These guys are trying hard & really know what they're doing. Whether you're attending a Pumphouse show or not, this restaurant deserves to succeed so please get in...
Read moreWe celebrated my friend's b-day having breakfast there and it was quite a disappointment. First, despite the previous reassurances from the stuff once we were making a booking, there were no vegan options on the menu. However, the waitress offered the chef can prepare some 'garnished veggies'. My inquiries into what sort of dish it'd be proved pointless - the waitress couldn't tell us what the chef would feel like cooking other than 'fried veggies'. My question if the dish is available in other forms, not all fried, resulted in a very rude response from the waitress if I'd rather eat raw potatoes (!!!). I gave up. The food actually turned out to be pretty tasty (hence 2 stars), but the portion was tiny - 5 gnocchi (literally), quarter of a carrot and a teaspoon of mushrooms for $19. I spent the rest of the meal starring at my friends eating their big portions. I wish we were told straightaway that the place was not vegan-friendly and spared the...
Read moreMe and my gf found this place like 8months ago and we always wanted to try bc it’s french food and my gf is french and I love french food as well. So we went here first time for trying. I had “Beef bourguignon” and my gf had “Brioche Foie-gras”. It was absolutely amazing. The chef definitely knew what he was doing and he put his love on the plate and we could’ve taste it from the food. To be honest, I got little bit emotional because of the food. I don’t know why but I felt like I was at home having my mom’s food. It doesn’t mean that I eat french food in Korea.😂 I mean I felt love from the food and that touched my emotion. Thanks to the chef for an amazing experience of French food. I definitely recommend this place to everyone who love French food or who misses French food. I will definitely come back here and enjoy my...
