Dakogi is a fairly new opening in Birkenhead/Highbury that specialises in Korean fried chicken. They have options of boneless or bone-in chicken with a variety of different sauce options. The size options are half or whole chicken. They also have burgers and other side dishes like kumara fries and coleslaw. I got the soy garlic dak as well as the onion flake chicken, with chips and kumara fries as sides. We had a little drive before we could enjoy the chicken and it did get a little soggy but some bits were still crispy. I found both chicken types to be a bit on the salty side but still nice. It is worth a try if you are in the area since it is a good...
Read moreI’m not sure what happened but this used to be my go to chicken place when I want Korean style fried chicken. Tonight I spent about $100 for old raddish that looks like it’s been marinating for too long and picked from the back of fridge somewhere, raw pink chicken upon first bite and just overall disappointing? Read moreFood: Ordered the chicken and chips and chicken burger. Chicken was tender and reasonably quality, but the sauce was bland and the batter mediocre. For a Korean Chicken place, it's really not great when the zinger burger across the road competes with you on intensity of flavour. Burger bun was mid, and coleslaw was a confusing choice when combined with chilli chicken and pickle.
Service: Lady I got it from was friendly, all smiles. No complaints.
Atmosphere: It's a takeout place. You order from a tablet, there's not really any atmosphere to the place other than that 'hole in...
