Dumpling World Restaurant — Restaurant in North Island

What a disappointing experience. We went there for a family dinner. First of all, we asked for a high chair when we booked, but when we arrived, no high chair. So we kindly asked again, minutes gone still had no high chair. So we stacked chairs together for our two toddlers, and thats still ok. The foods arrived reasonably quick, but we were disappointed by half of the dishes we ordered. The Mongolian lamb looked nothing like on their menu, and not to mention the strong smell. Usually there’s bowls for rice and spoons for each dishes (so we don’t use our own chopsticks to get foods), yet no bowls no spoons. That’s still ok, we went and got ourselves bowls and spoons. When we finished, it’s cake time, we asked for containers for leftover. But they only just leave the containers and left without clearing up our table. So we did it ourselves, again. As I also need to mind my kids, I couldn’t do all that so I asked the lady if she could do it. When my sis asked if we can have some napkins, the lady said, “just get it yourself, it’s right over there”! I was wondering if I needed to washed the dishes, too?

So I said, food was average but the service... well, if you don’t mind to serve yourself, but we will never go...

🍽Sweet and Sour Pork Slice - Well, my husband from the Northeastern China and we have to say it’s not authentic NE food. It’s “westernized” so that maybe it just makes to sell well not to satisfy Chinese customers. But except the sauce (which is the last step and makes the color kinda red), the rest tastes delicious. 🍽Fried Eggplant, Potato and Capsicum - It’s average. So far we didn’t find a place that can make the veggies tastes like meat, which is what the food should be in good chef’s hand. 🍽NE Salad with Clear Noodle - It’s ok. The sauce is good and the noodle is good. 🍽Service is beyond expectations. I only came here because first choice was full. If you order a large soup it will probably be enough for 8 people. Food is fairly bland, staff mixed drinks order up. Table's are small. Other than the soup other dishes were small and not good value. When you leave be careful of the step / ramp at the front door. Parking in the street is difficult as there are a lot of restaurants in Petone so parking...
