McDonald's Petone — Restaurant in North Island

Ordered food at the Kiosk at about 9.35pm. I would have gone through the drive through but it was backed up so my partner and I decided to go in. We ordered 1 x Chicken Mcnuggets Hunger Buster combo upsized to large with peach tea for the drink, 1 x BBQ McChicken Burger combo regular with no sugar coke for the drink, 2 x M&M McFlurrys one with an added flake. Kiosk didn't print a receipt, no surprises there, like it normally doesn't from previous experience at going in at this time of night. Inside was crowded too majority of the self serve kiosks were being used. Drinks were stacked up at the collection area with no one taking them and they had melted (frozen coke and ice creams...etc). Food was being prepped fast as it was staked up under the warmers but there was not enough staff at front to collect it all, the manager was trying to become the new Flash. Another customer was complaining to other customers about the poor service and long wait, she was starting to get someone to join her but his order was called and he left. A few people complained that their order wasn't correct or they were missing something but that was being they ran out of stock. Our number was 177. After they the staff called 183 my partner decided to ask where our food was. They had cancelled it off the screen. With the rush they gave us a cookie McFlurry and my partner said that it was wrong, but the manager said that we were wrong. We left at about 10pm with a McFlurry that wasn't made to our order, but got the rest of the food. Making this review 2 stars instead of 1 because the day service is normally good. Shall change my review once...

I didn't think it possible as we usually expect that on the occasion, especially in a popular chain restaurant, they forget an item/order BUT how is it possible that every single time I've gone to McDonalds Petone during peak hours they have forgotten a part of my order ... every single time!!

Tonight was the worst experience as my family were craving McDonald's and living in the area we went to Petone. We arrived at a time just before it got really busy, lucky us, wrong! Wait time was a little slow but expected and the staff were lovely so with a little blind faith, we didn't check our order. Get home to find they forgot our 3 large fries, almost not worth going all the way back just for fries but enough was enough.

Went over with the full order and receipt to prove I wasn't faking it but I get there and it's really busy and the staff is immediately less friendly. I explain calmly they forgot the fries and the staff responds "That's it?"

Basic lesson that I'm annoyed for not doing this ONE TIME ... always check your order...

I wanna give 5 stars to one of the staff (the only one who worths 5 stars in this Mc Donald’s) who was very friendly, caring. When I walked in, I noticed she was helping a customer with smiles (not many staff smile) at the self-served machines area. When I was scrolling through the menu and thinking (just 10s something) what to order, she came immediately and asked if I need any help (friendly but not in a robotic way). Later, when she came to my table and gave me the fries, she reminded me in a very kind way that the fries were VERY HOT. I have been many McDonald’s in Wellington, she’s the first one sooooo FRIENDLY, CARING & HARD-WORKING.

p.s. wanna give 5 stars to this McDonalds but I noticed only one staff was AWESOME. I was told those staff at the cashier were..........you know...
