Up from Auckland visiting family. Spotted Turkuaz Cafe and promised myself a coffee for the return trip home. Stepped into the cafe and instantly knew this place was authentic. I ordered my Türk kahvesi and waited just long enough to know it was being freshly brewed. I also bought a tin of authentic coffee to take home. The other pleasant surprise was getting a tin of apple tea. My family was really happy when I got home about three hours later. I brew coffee daily but the tea will be for high days and holidays. I will return one day for the food!

Whenever we visit Whangarei, my husband and I always make a point to go to Turkuaz Cafe. He particularly enjoys the welcoming atmosphere and has found the menu to his liking. It's become a reliable go-to spot for us, and we appreciate the positive dining experiences we've had there. However, individual experiences may vary, so it's advisable to check multiple reviews for a comprehensive understanding.

The food and customer service was so good and it feel good to support a local business that makes really good food!! The chef doesn’t speak English but was still an amazing host. The place is super well decorated and would look better with a room full of people. Definitely recommend and will be coming back

TL;DR got charged for extra forks?? I usually don’t leave google reviews, but how we were treated at the restaurant was confusing and shocking today - we ordered 3 dishes for 4 people (excluding a child who was not eating anything) made one large with extra salad and wanted to share the food. I asked first to get the kebabs cut - he said no and he did not mention anything about a no-sharing policy. I didn’t think much of it, and paid for the food. When the food came he gave us one fork when there were four people. I asked for three more forks and he refused? He said that he would have to charge me for extra forks? Without the forks we could not share and eat the food so I went up to pay and he tried to charge $10? He said they had a one meal per person policy after I had paid for everything (if so, it was not written anywhere and we weren’t notified prior to ordering so had no idea). He ended up giving us the forks for $5 - it’s more the principle than anything else, I would understand if we were in a big group and ordered a couple meals, but we just wanted to share three big dishes amongst four people. The quality of the food also did not outweigh the rudeness, so all-round really disappointing experience unfortunately. Ironically, no sense of hospitality or service was felt here. Was once a good customer but will not be...

My husband and I had lunch here today to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food here is lovely and was prepared so fast for us. The 2 guys were working very hard and did a lovely job of serving, cooking and waitering the tables. Even though they were busy they still took the time to smile and be friendly. We felt appreciated as customers. This is so important and not always seen these days so we very much appreciated that. We both had a large chicken Iskender. The large portion was a perfect size for me but not quite large enough for my husband. Maybe you could offer an extra lge option or make your large option just a fraction larger? The salad was fresh and had several different componants to it rather than just being lettuce. This made our meal even more enjoyable. There was a great range of entrees, drinks, mains and dessert options to choose from. Something for everyone. The atmosphere was nice and had a real cultural flavour to it. There was a range of larger tables for groups and smaller tables for couples. The chairs were very comfortable. It was nice having a decent space between tables too so we didnt feel jammed in on top of others. The place looks clean and hygenic. We had a lovely time Thank You. We will...

KID FRIENDLY!!

I feel like that has to be said first, and foremost.

We came here with two other Families after the circus and I was amazed at how great it was!! I had NO IDEA that they were kid friends with great food at an incredible value!

Perfect for a bigger group, they take reservations and are incredibly helpful with kids. They provide toys, colouring books, and generously sized kids meals.

Our mixed plate was tasty, had lots of variety, and filling. We didn't have room for desserts because the portions were surprisingly generous. Added perk, they have what seemed like a nearly full bar and a wide selection of beer and wine. Parental WIN!

We will most...
