Pimarn Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Northland

I really hate giving such a low rating and I'm not doing it lightly. I'll start with the positives. It's a nice looking restaurant. Good atmosphere and well decorated. The staff is lovely. Very attentive and professional. We were at a table of 24 people. I used to be a server and bartender for many years so I know just how hard it is to serve that many seated at one table. There were no issues with people's orders which in itself is an amazing feat. Food came out when it was ready that was understandable given the size of our party. The food was served hot. The only issue we had was the quality of the food itself. Both my husband and I are good home cooks. We both make Thai food so we know how things should taste. My husband's dish was awful according to him and mine was as well. In fact I got sick from my food. There are reasonable Thai restaurants in Whangerai but in my opinion Pimarn Thai isn't one of them. I wanted to like this place as I like to find good places to eat. They are only getting 3 stars for their food. I have no complaints otherwise. Sadly I do not recommend...

So disappointed with the service we received in the KAMO restaurant. Felt extremely rushed even though there were only us and one other group in there. Starters were cold. Curries looked curdled. We paid the bill without checking but then realised while we were still standing there that we were charged for 6 Heineken that one of our group had paid for himself with cash. The woman agreed to refund the 4 she remembered but refused to ask the other staff member who we pointed out had taken payment for the other 2 bottles. She was so rude and dismissive we didn't bother arguing for the rest of the money. Will never go back or recommend to...

Went last night for my work goodbye dinner. There were 15 of us and I made a booking. We all ordered around the same time and food was brought out at the same time which I was very impressed with. Food was lovely and everyone had a try of something different. I enjoyed the fact there was a little spice even in the foods you would expect there not to be. I am not good with spicy food however it was perfect I felt and gave an even better taste to the meal. Our waitress was lovely and even happy to take photos for us.
