Someone I know went yesterday at 6.42 pm and ended up with severe food poisoning at around 2-3 the following morning. He is still very unwell and will have to be off work for a few days as he works with food - his employer would seem to have higher food safety standards than this particular McDonald's franchise: a very expensive meal and was not worth it as the quality of service (as well as food) was below acceptable (fiddling with face masks and managed to stuff up the group's chicken McNuggets when it wasn't chock-full of customers). This food poisoning has now been reported to the appropriate local authorities. I have scrolled through the reviews and it would seem management does not care to improve their standards. People might be best seriously considering going elsewhere if on holiday and need to travel back: your body will need to expel the food - try doing that on a plane or in a vehicle! Good food and service is definitely achievable in Queenstown as the group went to Devil Burger and no one had any issues there. I do wonder though if the small group of people mentioned had introduced themselves as "local guides," whether better quality service and food might have been offered them - just a thought as the local guides seem to be "loving it" at...
Read moreI waited over 25 minutes for my fast food order. Given there were minimal people in the place at the time, i dont understand why it took so long. (I'm talking maybe a dozen customers). No explanation offered or simple apology provided.
The facility itself was dirty and not particularly well kept or clean. Dirty floors and uncleared tables. Unemptied bins that were full to overflowing.
The whole place looks like it could do with a bit of an overhaul really. The picture walls have rips and tears in them, which just looks unappealing. Toilets were less than appealing.
No table service available which i thought was odd for a Macdonalds. So i ended up waiting at the counter for my order to come through.
Place looked understaffed, and what staff were there looked overworked and tired. There certainly was no urgency in the delivery of orders, not just mine.
Given how much money goes through a macdonalds, i would have expected a higher standard of facility.

First time he didn't even look at me he just extended the efspos machine to my car and looked away. This time when my car was pulling up to him I was trying to tell him that the guy who took my order didn't enter what drink I wanted with my meal. So I asked him politely if I could please have a fanta with no ice. And he kept rushing me and said yes just go forward I will bring it. I wanted to ask for ketup but he just said yes just go and park infront. So I went to park and wait. When he brought out my food there was no ketchup and Fanta had ice after requesting no ice. I asked for ketchup and he said burger has sauce in it. Like foreal u gonna say that???? Like really???? he didn't even apologize for any of it. Look at this burger! No sauce and half cheese !
