I had one of the most incredible customer service experiences of my life in this Subway, and almost a decade on, the memory still brings me joy.
Some mates and I were stuck in Picton for a week (long story) and when the subject of trainhopping to get home sparked up, we figured we'd get some Subway for breakfast and pose as hungry tourists while scoping out the rail yard. Well, I was in for a treat.
I asked the young lady working there - the only one in the shop to service not just us, but a bunch of hungry patronage - if I could order something custom, and she replied, "You can have it any way you like!"
So I enquired more, asking if I could perhaps have a footlong sub with, say, a breakfast menu pick on one side, and a lunch on the other - to which she sternly and slowly replied, while maintaining eye contact, "Sir, you can have it any way you like."
I proceeded to order a footlong Italian herbs and cheese monstrosity of a sub with bacon and eggs on one side, topped with meatballs and smoked cheese, and pork riblet, 3 pepper chicken, bacon, double cheddar cheese, and every salad on the other. Told her to charge me whatever was necessary and she just grinned and shook her head.
Only cost me about $40 and was such a hilariously great moment that I'm giving you a 5 star rating again now, just for hiring that chick. She'll probably never see this, but what an absolute legend - Subway Picton will always be one of my favorite breakfast blowout...
Read moreBeing an internationally renowned & recognised Riblet© critic, most stores fall into wavering trepidation upon knowing my arrival, Subway Picton, proudly owned & operated by the great Sharon Aitken and David Rowell was not one of them.
Oozing professionalism and class from the jump, I knew I had my work cut out for me. Despite the stores busyness, I was seen too almost immediately. Greeted with a smile and a “let me guess, Riblet© ?”. No pleads for a photo or an autograph, which I’ve become accustomed to endure these days. A perfect example of a well-oiled machine, like watching the intricate mechanics of Big Ben at work. Bread to Riblet©, Riblet© to Toaster, Toaster to Salads, Salads to Sauce, Sauce to “Enjoy your fat, juicy Riblet© sir, have a good day!” I LOVE IT!
There are not enough superlatives to describe my experience at Subway, Picton. Truely unmatched. When I arrive in Picton again, much like Mickey Mouse to that Fresh Pumpkin Pie, I’ll be floating towards you upon the smell of that succulent Riblet©. So this is not a goodbye, not by a long stretch, but a see you next...
Read moreI had an incredible experience at the Subway in Picton! The atmosphere was very inviting, with a clean and comfortable setting that made me feel right at home. Adding to the charm was the absolutely stunning weather, which made the visit even more enjoyable.
The location is perfect—so convenient for travelers like me, as it's near the terminals for both Bluebridge and the Interislander ferries. It was the ideal spot to grab a delicious sub before departing to the windy capital, Wellington.
The nearby scenery is breathtaking, offering beautiful views that make the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this Subway for anyone passing...
