I have been to this place when it first open back in couple of years ago and back then the food was actually not bad. So I decided to make a visit on 28/03/22 and here are my thoughts..
Where to start…. Service from the staff was friendly, atmosphere of the shop was poor and the food was a total disaster.. especially a expectation from a Thai people like myself eating in a Thai restaurant, Chom Na have disappointed me so much. I had order Braised pork on rice, Roast Pork on rice and Grilled pork neck.
-Braised pork: Taste bland, the base sauce was too runny like a water, meat was just ok but It can be better.
-Roast Pork: Didn’t even cook the right pork or not even roast it, Sauce was tasteless apart from Tomato sauce mixed with soy sauce… and the dish were overfilled of sauce… I find this dish is the most disaster dish..
-Grilled pork neck : Didn’t even used the right part of the meat (which pretty much using the meat of Roast pork dish, is not even grilled it was only a stir fried pork meat only. Sauce tasted horrible. The dish was beyond disaster. I really felt this was a ripoff dishes.
Overall the food was absolutely horrible… waste of my money and expectations, the only reason that 1 stars were given was the staff or else wouldn’t worth a start at all. Wouldn’t go back to this place ever again and hopefully the owners read my review and improve their dishes..

Read moreThe wife and I dropped by this place after hankering for good Thai food and failing to find a good place in the last 3 years we were in Auckland. Thank heavens we took a chance on this place.
The place is authentically Thai the moment you stepped in. Pictures of the Thai King and Queen on the walls, a chalkboard scrawled with Thai calligraphy, and you know it's gonna be good when the wait and kitchen staff speak fluently in Thai.
We ordered the pad Thai (beef), green curry (beef), tom yum soup (beef), and two plates of steamed jasmine rice.
Pad Thai was generously sized, and they were liberal with the meat. They even asked for spice level which was considerate.
Green curry tasted of coconut cream (a definite must in Asian curries) and again, incredibly generous portions of beef and veges. The tomyum was a tad on the sweet side, as per the wife, so if you like your Tom yum sour, you might want to make this clear when ordering.
Otherwise, clean surroundings and bathroom facilities make this a good place to come back and try the other stuff...
Read moreI have visited Chom Na multiple times in the past, and my experience here has been consistently good! It can be great if you/your friends are on a budget.
Their prices are very good compared to other restaurants in the city, and their portions are very filling! I liked how well seasoned my pad Thai noodles were and how generous they were with the meats and vegetables. Reminds me of a nice home-cooked meal!
We also decided to get some fried chicken skin (which the staff offered to heat up for us!). It was crispy and tasty just like we expected.
It’s not a fine dining experience (yes it might be a bit dark) but it is a comfortable one, and one I’ll always consider when I’m in town. Great for a solo meal, a small group, or a larger party. I’ve never booked and they’ve always been pretty quick to make my order....
