We bought tickets through Treatme and decided to surprise children at the end of the school term. Our maze stated before we walked in. It called "find car park"..but it was just a beginning of our Disappointment. After we parked and found the place, two lovely ladies explained that we can go only once, if we want to come back to experience and have glasses we have to pay more. Sure! it's all about money but I wish it would of been highlighted on the offer before perchase (ah, marketing tricks) so we ended up paying more for children which was an actual price for entry. And this is when you think yay we are going in, but no wait....we had to take shoes off and give our hand bags to them. Well, here we are all had bear feet and no socks with us. I asked if I can buy socks but it was not in offer. So here we are in bear feet with small gloves on my hands feeling like a clowns and someone trying to explain that the place need to be clean. Hey, sorry maybe I am wrong but let's put it this way. No shoes does keep place clean but bear feet its disgusting and unhygienic! Next, my handbag....really. I just bought very expensive item which I was not ready to pass to other people and I don't care about cameras ect it's my small handbag and no way I will give it to anyone!!!!! Finally we are in and omg why do we need this glasses?! Maybe so parents can carry them around for better experience? Then sign scary way or chicken out...children can read and obviously in the group of them it started "you are chicken " ect so everyone decided to go. FFS it took me all night to sit by her bed while she was crying about that horrible doll. Why no one explained to parents about it. I am sure I would find the way to avoid this!!!! So, overall I have lots of why and very disappointed about everything. The intentions are there but heart, understanding, respect and value of customers diffenatly(hopefully)on the list to...
Read moreThe first sensory maze is finding this place in amongst sky world.
When you find the entrance, you'll notice the high prices and the friendly staff. I'm surprised up to this point the business has survived. Almost everything else in skyworld is dead, and they had to rebuild everything after the Auckland floods destroyed the maze. Maybe the fact that a 15 min trip is atleast $30.
So, unlike what the website says a trip through the maze isn't 30 minutes but only half that time. At the current price point, this deal is completely not worth it. Luckily, me and my partner spent 7 extra dollars to buy the tickets which meant we could go through the maze unlimited times in a one hour period. Included was a pair of "crazy goggles" which by themselves cost around $4 if I recall correctly. There is no information I could find with what the goggles actually do, but they essentially quadruple the amount of lights you see. These goggles MAKE the experience, and every time I put them off I noted how lame the experience was without them. We managed to go through the maze 4 times, making each trip around $8. I felt sorry for the people that we passed that didn't buy the hour combo, and I assume their experience would be a 1 or 2 stars out of 5. I think my experience warrants 4 stars, for the fun maze trips, great staff, security and immediate exiting and entering through skyworld.
I would only recommend going through the maze if you buy the hour pass and have money to burn for a...
Read moreMy son can be quite anxious but it is important to expose him to new experiences. Before we went in he was visibly upset and worried. We had prepaid for one turn but I asked the lady working there if we could upgrade after going through from a single turn to an hour pass. She said we could pay for another turn but we wouldn't get the glasses (which is included if you prepay for an hour). I decided to go with this option and we went through. My son hated it for about 2/3rds and then during the last third found his confidence and decided he wanted to go again. So I paid for another round assuming that meant we upgraded to an hour pass (they cost the same) but without the free glasses. When we tried to go for our third turn we were told we would have to pay another $18 for what was really going to be a ten minute run. I questioned this with two points: I wasn't aware that we weren't upgrading to the full hour, especially because we have paid the same amount It really feels like it punishes parents of anxious kids. It was hard enough to get my son to go in the first time so I couldn't predict that he would feel comfortable enough to want the whole hour. When I mentioned these points I was met with "sorry, it's company policy" which I understand. However, it felt like a really stink way to end our time there and definitely didn't feel very...
