Read moreI visited Red Rabbit in Newmarket today for a coffee, and while the coffee itself was okay, the service was terrible. The barista didn’t bother greet or care to acknowledge that I was there. I understand that everyone can have an off day, so I didn’t think too much of it at first.
I ordered a drip coffee, which cost $12.80. Given the price, I expected a full cup, but the barista poured himself a small portion (out of the v60 coffee he brewed for me in the jug/server before handing it over) to taste, and then only served me around 90% of the brew, leaving the rest in the jug. It was quite unusual, especially for a coffee at this price point, and it left me wondering why I didn’t receive the full amount.
There was no “thank you” or any kind of acknowledgment when handing over the coffee. He simply put the lid on and said, “here.” It felt very impersonal and unwelcoming.
Overall, it was a strange and disappointing experience, especially considering the cost and location. I’ve seen other reviews mentioning similar issues, and unfortunately, my experience seems to...
Read moreI don’t know why this place doesn’t have 5 stars. This place is hands down the best coffee I have ever tasted in my life. Plus the design is very classy! They have two blends Ethiopian and Columbian both sooo goood, I honestly don’t think any place in New Zealand can beat them and they also know how to make coffee i.e most cafes burn the milk this place gets it spot on everytime which I’ve never found a cafe do so. I drive from the hibiscus coast just to have this coffee soo so good, I also recommend the almond croissant yum yum yum. The only this I would say is it is a little higher in price than other places but happy to pay as I know I’m getting, seems the owner has very high standards. The only other small thing I’d say is that server I noticed was a quite grumpy with no emails but we all...
