Unsurpassed in incompetence
My friend and I wanted to grab lunch at Subway and decided to go for the 6-inch Chicken Teriyaki Lunch Subbox, which was displayed on a big sign with the price of $14,70. However my friend who ordered first had to pay $16,40. On demand the employee justified it by saying that the price on the sign was just an example and that it depends on the sort of meat you choose. The ridiculous thing is that my friend ordered Chicken Teriyaki as on the sign (Otherwise that should have been told the customer while placing the order and not afterwards)! My friend connived this, but when it was my turn to pay (I ordered the exact same thing) somehow I was only charged the displayed amount of $14,70. Obviously noticing the difference we asked for an explanation. The two employees clearly had no clue and tried to make up an explanation which did not make sense at all. First they stammered something about the beverages - obviously absurd since (once again) we placed the exact same order. In the end we were left with an unsatisfying explanation of them pressing the wrong buttons. Then we expected them to pay my friend back, instead they charged me a ridiculous additional amount of $1,10 (that does not make sense if you can do simple math). At this point we still have not received a proper apology, even though it was clearly their mistake.
The way they treated us as customers is neither professional nor customer friendly. We left the store with complete dissatisfaction and are not keen on going back to this...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars, i would. I went into the store the other day to get a sandwich, and asked for the sub of the day. I asked the staff member to make it, I didn't want to stand there and tell him how to do his own job, and i was busy thinking about things.
What a mistake that was. The sandwich came out bland, missing basic ingredients, and the flavours were all off? They call the staff sandwich artists but can't even make a half decent sandwich if they tried. I'd rather make my own at home, as these guys are useless.
After making a complaint on the subway website, i got a call from the useless Symonds Street branch manager. She told me that the whole point of subway is to "pick your own stuff", and that she wasnt pizza hut. She next "next time just order online". I was taken back by her rude and argumentative position, especially after telling her that her staff should have brains and a basic understanding of a sandwich.
I called Subway head office and spoke with another girl, who actually listened to me but still persisted in beating the "make your own choices" drum. She finally admitted to me that staff should have a basic understanding of how to make sandwiches, and what flavours work - and promised to raise the concern with her Operations Manager.
Time to put your big boy pants on Subway and learn how to make a...
Read moreIt is a place i will only go when i dont have much of other options. Once i got two sandwiches, one chicken teriyaki and one veg delite. When the staff started making veg sandwich the girl didnt changed her gloves. All i said was "Hey aren't you gonna change your glove Sorry thats for...." didn't wait for me to finish just rolled her eyes and sigh " she(the other staff) is going to make the sandwich I am just getting the bread". I told her "sorry its for my friend and she is vegetarian she specifically asked me to make sure clean gloves are ..," again didn't wait for me to finish and " its not like i am touching the salad part what is the big deal" then i asked the other person to make the sandwich. It wasnt a rush as there were only 2 customers. Once got chicken teriyaki sandwich and that was made poorly. It was more of a salad than a sandwich. Everything was coming out. If you are there in the evening they always run out of bread like seriously. It is not once in a while situation. Not always bad though. Had some good...
