Many Asians can relate if I say 'Dip the youtiao in hot soya milk or coffee is yummylicious!' And that's exactly what I did in this restaurant for breakfast. Staff is patient as we go through what to decide for breakfast. They have porridge, noodles and rice. You choose what you want and pay at the counter. Just sit and wait till you're served. The soft beancurd and youtiao was served hot and perfect! Beancurd has rock sugar in it but trust me, it's not that sweet, just perfect. Soya milk was prepared and served like a cappuccino with foam on top. Not too sure if that's how they always serve it but again, yummylicious! Must say you get the vibe of being in a Chinese restaurant from home and food is good! Must try if you ever visit NZ. Only thing missing is coffee or tea. Maybe the restaurant can consider serving that for breakfast in the future?

Sunny town has great interiors and super friendly staff! The self service is intuitive and I love how everything is built into the decor! The flour/steamed food were delicious. The bao was sweet and meat was juicy. The shumai had yummy dumpling skin and soup meat filling, the seasoning could be richer it had corn and pea topping. The cold spicy noodle was yummy - luckily they had chili oil we could add to make it have more kick. The dan dan mian was soupy and tasted more like spicy soup noodle, maybe that’s what they were going for, but we were looking for something more exciting. None of the dishes were spicy at all, so if you a fan of spicy you may need to add condiments. Beef noodle soup is good, broth is just a soya base. Portions are very generous for the price, so pleasantly surprised!

Simple menu. Order at cash. Pick up bowls/plates and napkins (sauces and chopsticks are on tables, but napkin section does not get filled). Food arrives quickly. Modern, comfortable seating, staff cleans tables promptly. Toilets are clean and well stocked, handicap lavatory has a few touch up issues. Food is very tasty. Dan Dan a little soupier than I like, but with the true flavourful zing of Szechuan pepper, sesame and peanut. Veg Bao remind me of my favourite Buddhist steamed bun shop in Taipei- a half order is two full servings of vegetables! I would definitely return again to taste the cold noodle. The families of Asians who are the majority of customers lend their mark of approval to the product. The staff even thanked me as I left, a small touch that was much appreciated.

Oh boy, was my taste buds at gunpoint as soon as I received my Dandan noodle soup.

My typical student diet consists of Sunday night pasta, mac and cheese on Wednesdays, buttered toast every morning accompanied by refreshing Dilma premium tea; the slightest hint of pepper in a bland dish would have me shell-shocked and at war with the toilet. The soup spoon? Not entirely sure the exact name but let me just say it sat perfectly above the steaming bowl of Dandan noodles, the aroma wafting up teasing my senses. As I dipped the spoon into the bowl, the soup swirled around it, the steam rising in a gentle wisp, my mouth was watering in anticipation. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, savouring the rich and complex flavours that danced on the floor of my tongue. It was a delicious blend of noodles balanced with a beautiful sauce.

I let out a contented sigh as I savoured the taste, my taste buds tingling with pleasure. The second spoonful was even better than the first, the flavours intensifying with each bite. Throughout the soup, I could taste an abundance of sweetness, spice, and herbs that gave it a deep flavour. Due to my intense concentration in devouring this generous portion of quite possibly the best meal I have ever encountered, my entire mouth was numb and I was only half way done.

As I finished the last spoonful, I felt a sense of satisfaction wash over me. It was comforting and nourishing, and left me feeling warm and content. And I knew that no matter how many bowls of soup I would eat in the future, that one spoonful would always be the most delicious one in my memory.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I will never...

Really don’t know that they have changed their rules. My friend found a seat inside and sit down while I was waiting to order the food, as we used to do that last time when we came here. Then, the guy told me that we need to order the food first before grab a seat. I understand that their rule, we will give the seat to some one ordered already. But one of the old lady who work there just kick my friend out, ask her off from the seat if she didn’t order anything. Then she come to me, and just telling loudly to me that we can’t doing that in front of other customer ! And keep saying that to us, I told her that we already know as the guy just told us , she doesn’t need to explain anymore. But she refused my request ! And she is saying that the reputation of sunny town is very important in front of all the guests and loudly to embarrassing us !!!!! I really don’t wanna argue with her, so we just walked away. For this hopeless restaurant, they only care about themselves, they don’t care how the customer feel. One more thing! They are really racist! They treaded kiwi ppl nicer , but just Behebung rude and grumpy to Chinese customers Even though they are...

5 star service.

I ordered a set of 6 dumplings and a side dish. After a reasonable wait, the dumplings were ready, but I was informed of a small issue with my order (they could only serve 5 dumplings, I think the final did not make it!). Before I even got to ask or raise any questions, they offered to give me an extra dish of 4 dumplings of a different variety to make good (as it would take longer to re-do my original dish in full), in addition to the original dish of 5 dumplings (this makes sense, no point wasting food, some restaurants would just trash the incomplete dish).

Very happy with this service so giving them 5 stars.

The dumplings were fairly tasty for their price and you can see them being made freshly in the front of the restaurant. The side dish (porridge) could be improved but this was cheap. The dumplings are medium-large sized, and...
