⭐ Review – The Pantry, Park Hyatt Auckland
I had lunch today at The Pantry inside the Park Hyatt Auckland, and I have to say the Google reviews were right — this place is a real gem.
📍 Location & Atmosphere The spot overlooks the Viaduct Harbour, with plenty of natural light, leafy views, and a calm vibe that makes you forget you’re in the middle of the city. It feels refined without being stiff — elegant yet welcoming.
🍽️ The Food We tried two different dishes, and both impressed me with presentation and flavor. • The vegetarian bowl with crispy tofu, edamame, chickpeas, avocado, cherry tomatoes, and a perfectly poached egg was a fresh and satisfying mix — healthy but full of flavor and texture. • The gourmet toasts topped with creamy sauce, microgreens, and a side salad were bold and indulgent, striking the right balance between crunch and softness, with a subtle spicy kick to round it off.
💡 Highlights (and Google reviews agree): • Fresh, high-quality ingredients that go beyond standard hotel café fare. • Generous portions beautifully plated — food that’s as good to look at as it is to eat. • Friendly, professional staff who make you feel genuinely welcome. • Great value for the setting — refined dining without the intimidating price tag. • Versatile offering: perfect for breakfast, lunch, sweet treats, or even wine and cheese in the evening.
✨ Overall The Pantry is the kind of place you’ll want to return to: it pampers you without overdoing it, surprises you with fresh, well-crafted dishes, and gives you a relaxed moment with a view. A smart mix of luxury and...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the birthday cake that I recently purchased from your store. I was excited to celebrate my special occasion with a delicious cake, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of my expectations.
Firstly, the packaging of the cake was very cheap and flimsy, which made it difficult to transport and caused the cake to shift around during transit. As a result, the cake arrived in a less-than-perfect condition, with some frosting smudged and the cake slightly misshapen.
However, the most concerning issue was when I discovered a piece of baking paper inside the cake itself. This was a major disappointment, as it not only affected the taste and texture of the cake, but it also raised concerns about the hygiene and safety standards of your store's kitchen.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but I was disappointed that the quality control of the cake seemed to be lacking. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter and take steps to ensure that this does not happen again in the future.
I hope that you will take my feedback into consideration and improve your product quality and customer service. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this matter.

The service and Fitout was divine but the food was a huge letdown. Foraged mushrooms sounds alluring, but turns out to be tasteless and button mushrooms of the exact same type you have find at countdown down the road (which is where I also expect the ‘foraged’ their heirloom tomatoes in the cannot salad which were very obviously your standard tomato’s)... the big breakfast was just as disappointing with a sausage that was mass produced and wouldn’t have even been acceptable at a coffee club.... except that is left by partner running to the bathroom only a hour later. Eightthirty coffee was burnt and while normally delightful at other locations was a huge letdown here. Perhaps by pantry they literally mean the stock standard ingredients you could find in your own pantry at home. Absolute waste of money, massively disappointing and a place I would never return to expect for perhaps a beer or something the kitchen couldn’t possibly ruin. Though it was...
