We've been invited by a friend, arrived bit earlier maybe 15 minutes or 10 minute before booking at 7pm and asked to the Host mentioning our friend's name and for hte booking at 7pm. She said didn't have any booking under the name. I kindly asked to check again and if there's any other way to find out because my friend booked surely, she was really annoyed and declined to check again and added no booking under that name closing the conversation looked really upset like I was wasting her time!. So while I try to call my friend to find out under what name, another group of same party asked her same mentioning our friend's name under same booking. Exactly same name as we did. With my surprise she let them in, telling them possibly upstairs there's a table for a party booked. Why she didn't do the same for us? Clearly she's not Customer oriented and not happy of her job neither when people asking her to find out a way. The simple way it's to ask Invitees to provide friend phone number, this is a well know practise to find out when name would not show in the booking. Service form Waitress was great. At the end of the meals being served some of the invitees left earlier. We together with remaining Guests went to the Cashier to pay. She immediately and extremely annoyed stated that she doesn't know what's going on because Guests who left paid something but she won't accept payment based on what we had ! So I asked what we should do, she shaked her head really frustrated and said I don't know, you can pay something. So I said I definitely don't want to under pay and let the other Guests paying more. She added and wave the menu to my face and another Guest face showing and saying: " You see it's written here, no sharing bills" in a loud and extremely inappropriate way to us a Guest of the Restaurant ! It was very hard to be treated like that! I stayed calm for the only reason my daughter was next to me! One of the Guest was extremely annoyed from her and stated that we were not told and we didn't read all menu especially on the back and at the end. He also suggested that we should have been told at the beginning to avoid all this nightmare! Not a single word for me just holding her hip against the desk where the Eftops machine is and staring at us! All Guests looking at each other and visibly distressed, they couldn't believe what they were seeing in front of their eyes! I needed to insist three times to let us know what we should do and what was the balance and how can we figured out how much we should pay we has remaining Guests. Finally she told us the balance, so I suggest her to divide that amount with the number of us remaining Guest. Totally appaling her disrupt stubborn arrogant attitude with us that we were having a celebrating night with friends. She should have suggest at the beginning........this is the balance and easiest way it will be to share this amount between us................................who's working for who since I have done her job simply because she was in a tantrum? Waitress were Fantastic and although they forgot few things during the service, we understood that they were understaffed and extremely busy. The Host (she worked on the 8 June and attended us at the entrance around 6:45pm) she's horrible person, so rude and arrogant I'll never came across in my whole life! She never started the conversation saying sorry sir that you didn't know we don't do sharing bills, I mean seriously I understand the Industry is in a crititcal situation, however this kind of people cannot be in a role that it's obvious not appropriate for such rude arrogant awful person to address Guests in such authoritarian way! All Guests were extremely upset waiting to pay which took more than 15 minutes to figured out because of her unprofessional and rude attitude. Thanks to my proactive and positive attitude then talking with other Guests we've sorted out. The only way for us to return is to know she's not there anymore ! Don't need to dine in a place and be treated and talked like that! She have...
Read moreWent there for my birthday celebration and had the worst experience.
Had a reservation at 7 got there on time and waited at the entrance for a while with no staff members acknowledging us. I understand they are busy but a simple greeting or a gesture to let us know that they will be with us soon would be nice. All they did was give us a glance and went back to ignoring us. My partner had to walk right up to them and even then the staff members reacted to his presence as if he was a nuisance. The waitress that checked the reservation book even said, "oh, you are 10mins late but thats ok"....maybe because we were standing next to the sign that said "wait here to be seated" For the last 10mins?!
When she finally took us to our table the waitress did not apologize for the slow service and only made excuses... cool.
Took them a while to take our order of 2 drinks, 1 entree to share and 2 meals.
The entree arrived, which we had ordered the mussels. Half of the mussels was so dry..shivered up wrinkly little things. We finished the entree but our drinks still haven't arrived. You would think that's the first thing they would serve us. We didn't ask them to make us something fancy it was just a glass of apple juice and wine.
The old couple that came in after us already had their entree and drinks and are on their main course and we still haven't been served our drinks..
When our main course arrived it looked nice so we were hopeful. But the steak was undercooked and my lamb was overcooked, we asked for medium rare. To make matters worse they seem to have forgotten to season our food...I expected my meal to be seasoned especially since it will cost me $44 for the plate.
They took the steak back to cook further however, it seems it was just blasted with flame for 1min before serving again as it became a crusted morsel of raw meat, it was also served without utensils.
Eating at the nearby pizzahut would have been a better choice.
100% would not recommend 100% would not go back again
There are many other steakhouses that is way better than this place. Don't go here and save your...
Read moreNot going to lie, we are serious meat eaters in our house so my suggestion for dinner was quickly ignored once the Favourite Husband honed in on the “TOMAHAWKS” sign ahead, like a heat seeking missile. It was like stepping back in time as we entered the restaurant and were seated in a booth and surrounded by brick walls and leather seating. I love all things retro, it’s why I married the Favourite Husband, so I was down for it. And the menu didn’t disappoint. There was pate and prawn cocktail and so many mains I was overwhelmed with choice. The super friendly staff immediately offered to take our drinks order which is a big hit with me. Nothing worse than sitting around waiting for a drink. We went full retro and ordered the pate and the prawn cocktail as we both fancied both so we could share. (Loosely translated as I wanted both and couldn’t make my mind up so the Favourite Husband appeased me!) I also liked that we were able to order the entrees and then order the mains afterwards which helped stretch the meal out for us. We eat lots and at pace, so this is a good way to slow down and enjoy the evening rather than just the food. The pate was nice, although the toast could have been a little crispier with a bit longer in the toaster. The prawn cocktail was absolutely delicious. Very generous on the prawns and a nice hint of heat in the sauce. Then it was on to the steak. The greedy man Favourite Husband went with the tomahawk steak and a side of vegetables and I went with the fillet bernaise and some onion rings. (I really need to go on a diet come Monday …) The steaks were cooked to perfection and had a lovely, tasty char to them. The bernaise sauce was silky and full of tarragon flavour. The onion rings were hot and crispy and not too greasy. The service was friendly and we felt it was good value for money considering the standard of the steaks in particular. If you want simple food, done well, this is the...
