This should be the worst experience Iv ever had in Auckland. Here the thing, I made the booking for THREE people in advance for this Saturday night, well, I think Im old enough to know what's the different between TWO and THREE, however, when I got there this Saturday, the waiter told me I was book for TWO people, I tried to tell him that's impossible cause at the very beginning there were three people coming, it's not like Suddenly I wanna add one more people, but the waiter just keep saying “NO!” to me every time I try to explain that's impossible. yeah, Can u believe? It's not like “maybe there are some misunderstanding...” He just keeping say“No!”to me.....and he did nothing to solve this problem just keep watching me... so I asked him Can I add one more chair there to make It three, he showed me how small the table is, and just keep telling me he Can do nothing. I was so annoying by this negative attitude, so I asked him “ so u mean there is nothing u can do and I should just leave? ” and the waiter just pointed to one of the waitress and told me that's the girl to took my booking. Okay, all I Can do was phone my friends not come, they drive soooo far to come to city cause I recommend this restaurant, I feel guilty about this. And annoying, so I went back and told the waiter I need to talk with the duty manager, and the most amazing part is he told me he is the duty manager. It is unbelievable that someone who showed no sympathy and didnt try to do anything to solve the customer's problem is a duty manager. He should be Shame about his negative working attitude. Never go there again and I will tell all my friends not to. And wish u guys would have a...

Food 5/5 Staff 4/5 Management 1/5

Good variety of hotpot, sushi, sashimi & deep fried goods. Buffet comes with an awesome entree plater and a soft serve machine with brownies for dessert.

Most of the staff were friendly however my girlfriend and I overheard a vulgar conservation behind the front counter 50cm away from us. It involved Women, Glasses (both which apply to my girlfriend) and "porn". They seemed oblivious that she could speak Japanese fluently and continued while she choose between the cute mini nigiri and the tall Californian rolls. "Are you talking about me?" my girlfriend asked directly "Can I please speak to the manager." To her disgust she was already talking to the manager. Instantly he assured us that they were not talking her and apologised only for that. At no point did they appologise or admit the conversation they were having was inappropriate and outright sickening. To make matters worse she was approached three more times by the same manager with small compliments and food advice. This would normally be kind of acceptable however it was plain upsetting and creepy after the previous conversation. No compensation was ever offered and no apology for ruining our appetite 50% of the way through our time there.

This matter could have been swiftly acknowledged, apologised put to rest. All we wanted was an assurance no inappropriate conversation would never happen again and that they were truly sorry. We left feeling the sick and sad wanting to really...

Worst all you can eat buffet I've had so far, and I'm not exaggerating.

For 57$/person: the fish is cut horribly so every single piece of salmon has silver skin on it. all maki are drowned in mayo the tuna was not refilled during our 1.5h stay so we had around 3 pieces total the nigiri is of worse quality than any supermarket one that you can find (bad fish cuts - old, dry and badly seasoned rice) Only shrimp tempura Birds were in the restaurant ?!? The meat for the hot pot was really chewy, all other hotpot ingredients including but not limited to the dipping sauces were really disappointing as well the atmosphere is really loud (concrete walls etc) so you couldn't really talk to the person next to you -the powder green tea was out. -even the ice cream (chocolate/"vanilla"mix) was weird (not vanilla...)

Can not name a single positive thing about the restaurant aside from the staff which was quick and attentive.

Go anywhere else and youll be better off. Cannot stress enough how disappointed i was with the...

We went for dinner for a friend's birthday. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was really good quality and overall all very delicious. What we ordered: Chicken wings - Light and crispy on the outside and still flavourful on the inside, not dry either. Katsu Chicken - Very crispy and thin skin, chicken was again very succulent and not bland at all. King Prawn Sushi Rolls - prawns were fresh and had a crispy crunch on the outside, slightly spicy mayo which balanced well with the other flavours. Super Ramen - noodles were on the softer side, not what I prefer but the flavour was still nice. The pork was very tender. Feijoa Fizz - the drink was very tangy, but I enjoyed it. It apparently had lychee in it, but I couldn't taste it very well, perhaps it was overpowered by the feijoa. I didn't have any of the sashimi but it was presented beautifully. I'm not a fan of seafood and I think it would worth more the price if you do like it, which is the only nitpick I have.

We went here on a Friday night, the restaurant had great interior decoration and lots of space but unfortunately that's about as good as it got. The four of us ordered 4 side dishes, a large sashimi, and a salmon fireball. We also ordered three cocktails and a beer, the cocktails were good. The sashimi was by far the best dish, it was very fresh and delicious. The sushi was terrible, the rice was soggy and the unagi(eel) was definitely frozen eel from the super market. The softshell crab was soft but not crunchy at all, the bottom of it was soaked in sauce and became very soggy. The edamame beans were ok. The chicken karage was decent but a little dry. The salmon fireball had the same issue as the sushi, soggy rice. I'm sorry but you can't open a Japanese restaurant and screw up the rice so badly. The total bill came to $220+ for that price this meal was an extortion.

I am so sad that this place was so disappointing. The staff is incredible fast. Your order will be on a table in blink of an eye. BUT! I am super oldschool with sushi and I was really really looking forward to traditional simple fresh sushi. The menu says Salmon roll, Tuna roll.. Your good old classics. However we got sushi topped with so much stuff. I understand now the reviews that say this isnt your traditional Japanese food. BUT! If you love your sushi pimped and topped up with mayo and other dressings, you will love it. I just wish the menu warned me. Howevet the nigiri was great. Beef tartare was a bit blend (and I love punchy yuzu flavour, but didnt feel any). Karaage chicken was all good. Anyways, cute looking izakaya. Great staff and prices. Just more into traditional Japanese food but that is my personal preference.
