This is an edit. I have eaten here twice now. My first time was 5⭐ but my second was nowhere near as close. I ordered a yummy looking sandwich but it was served to me on what tasted like 2 day old bread that had been sitting out the whole time. It was VERY stale. I could barely chew it. From my level 8 reviewer status on here it should be obvious that I enjoy eating out. In all my life I have only sent back one other meal, ever. I sent this back. But that wasn't the only problem. I couldn't get the attention of any of the servers. They kept walking past me and I would raise my hand and say excuse me! But they just walked right by. I sat there for 8 whole minutes not eating anything when I finally raised my voice at a server and she came over. I am very concious of being mild mannered and polite in a restaurant setting. I should not have to raise my voice to get the attention of a server. They remade my sandwich on different bread. It was kind of a bummer because the sourdough was part of the appeal to me on the menu, but I guess if it was all old and stale then I didn't want it anyway.
Below is my first review:
I had a truly lovely experience here. My server, Stephen, was friendly and helpful. I love salads and they have several to choose from. I had the crunchy chicken salad, it's crunchy because it has peanuts in it. I also had a caramel latte. They didn't make it as hot as I like it even though I asked but I understand. There's been this weird movement im coffee over the past decade to serve lattes colder and colder. When is it going to stop??? When the only latte you can order is an iced one?
Anyway, I digress, the place is really cute and exactly my style. It's mostly salads and sandwiches and those are probably my two favorite things to eat.
They also have a bakery, a chocolate shop, and homemade sorbet. Oh! And alcohol. I'm glad the place isn't too close to my home or else I'd spend all my money eating there entirely too often.
If you're reading this, Stephen, I'm realizing right now I forgot to leave a tip. I'll get...
Read moreZiya Delicacy Boutique is a hidden gem tucked away on Oju Olobun street in Victoria Island. The decor is tastefully done, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere perfect for any occasion. It’s ideal for enjoying a cup of coffee (a Caramel Macchiato for me 😄) and reading a good book.
One of the standout items on their menu is the Philly cheesesteak panini. It is hands down the best I've ever had in Lagos – perfectly grilled with just the right amount of cheese and beef, making every bite a heavenly experience. Pair this with my fave - the caramel macchiato, which is equally delicious whether you choose it hot or iced. It's a perfect combination that keeps you coming back for more. They offer other signature sandwiches, breakfast until 1pm, salads and more. Check out their menu on Instagram.
For dessert lovers, Ziya offers an impressive selection of ice cream that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Additionally, the restaurant features a variety of wine, gourmet olive oils and other jar goods available for purchase, allowing you to take a piece of the Ziya experience home with you.
While parking can be a bit tight, Ziya makes up for it by offering valet parking, ensuring a hassle-free visit from start to finish.
In summary, Ziya Restaurant not only excels in its culinary offerings but also in creating an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere. Whether you're there for a quick coffee or a full meal, Ziya is sure to exceed your...
Read moreWas staying at a hotel in the area and decided to stop by for a bite to eat. I ordered the Tex Mex quesadilla and pitcher of lemonade. My partner wasn’t hungry but was willing to share the lemonade with me. Unfortunately though, almost 40 minutes after placing my order the waiter came out to inform me that they no longer served the pitchers. I knew this was strange because I recall this same waiter pointing out earlier another customer who had the same pitcher of lemonade. When I mentioned it he changed his tune and said that they had took the last one. But then I saw another staff member walk by shortly after with an empty pitcher, so I knew this was all a lie. I didn’t like how shady everything went.
Also, wasn’t happy with the food. The quesadilla was too greasy. The side salad was just some kale with bland dressing on it and the sweet potato chips appeared to be more like regular kettle chips from a bag. For the prices they charge, I would expect better. I was looking forward to trying their ice cream but after the poor customer service, I refuse to buy another thing from this...
