Where do I even start with this place, from the delayed food service to the tiny portions to FOOD POISONING!!! My friends and I made an order with very high expectations, seeing as they were highly recommended, we had the food delivered, but even getting the food was an issue before they took a while to put in our order, I was begging them for thier account details to be able to get my order to even be processed. This alone took about two hours. The food took a while to be ready to be sent and this would have been forgivable if the food we got was anything to write home about. Everything was overly salty, I personally got the jerk chicken and stewed oxtail with white rice. I’ve spent a good amount of time living in the carribean and I can say that tasted nothing like jerk chicken nor oxtail, the amount of salt that they packed into these dishes were criminal, I couldn’t taste anything else other than salt in this dish. One of my friends had the mac and cheese and it was nothing to write home about, there was no seasoning in that dish. Very disappointing!!! Another one of my friends had gotten the Alfredo and it was honestly the only half way decent thing there, it wasnt commendable, it was just the best thing especially compared to every thing else on the menu. And the patties and coco bread were nothing to write home about either. The coco read looks nothing like the coco bread I remember eating, it looked flat and a bit burnt, although it didn’t taste terrible. I’d gotten one of all the non vegetarian patties and I can boldly say not one met my expectations. Least of all the Chicken. And to sum every thing up today I woke up with a running stomach and I didn’t even put it together that it might be from the food, until my friends frantically called me the morning after asking if I too was also experiencing diarrhea, like what?!! That’s honestly what made me even come to give this review in the first place, with everything we went through just to get the food to us, it was a huge let down. I’ve seen people rave about this place and I was really excited to try it, and get some nostalgic feel but instead I was hit with a rude awakening, I wasn’t expecting the food to out do the doers, in all honesty, but at least give a bit of the feel, but I was too harshly reminded where I was getting the food...

Review of Jamski Lagos in VI, Lagos

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jamski Lagos, a delightful restaurant in Victoria Island, Lagos, specializing in authentic Jamaican cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm smiles and a vibrant, reggae-inspired atmosphere that immediately transported me to the Caribbean.

The menu at Jamski Lagos is a feast for the senses, offering a wide variety of traditional Jamaican dishes that are both flavorful and hearty. I opted for the jerk chicken, which was perfectly spiced and tender, accompanied by a generous portion of rice and peas. The oxtail stew was another highlight, boasting a rich, savory sauce that complemented the tender meat beautifully. For those with a penchant for seafood, the escovitch fish is a must-try, with its tangy pickled vegetables adding a delightful contrast to the crispy fried fish.

One of the standout features of Jamski Lagos is their commitment to making the dining experience as easy and enjoyable as possible for their customers. Each menu item is accompanied by a vibrant, high-quality photograph, allowing diners to see exactly what they are ordering. This thoughtful touch not only enhances the overall dining experience but also helps those who may be unfamiliar with Jamaican cuisine to make informed choices.

In addition to the delicious food, the service at Jamski Lagos is impeccable. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and are more than happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. The wait times are reasonable, and the presentation of the dishes is top-notch, making every meal feel like a special occasion.

Overall, Jamski Lagos is a fantastic addition to the dining scene in Victoria Island. Whether you're a seasoned lover of Jamaican food or trying it for the first time, this restaurant offers a welcoming environment and mouthwatering dishes that will leave you coming back for more. Don't miss out on this...

I love the food, customer service and the vibe of this place. The only things missing - waves crashing in the background and a caribbean sunset.

I love JA and the moment you step foot into this place it feels like a spot you would walk into after spending your day at the beach - very island feel. The Jamaican music playing, vintage placemats, brightly colored decor and the warm island greeting.

I've had the jerk pork (perfectly seasoned, juicy,) oxtails ( I wanted to drink the gravy when I finished my rice - well marinated with a nice spice kick) shrimp patty (from the color of the patty alone, I knew I was going to devour it, perfectly crispy and flaky on the outside. Just succulent marinated whole shrimps in every bite) curry fish (this was a light meal, I didn't feel too full after eating), and coconut peas and rice (I personally am not a fan of coconut rice, but this was delicious.....all delicious.

I convinced my co-workers to order lunch from Jamski and they all asked why did I keep this place a secret.

Mr. Obs and Princess, are very hospitable!

The rum punch, will punch you. You've been warned,...

Felt like something different for dinner so Jamski came to mind. We found their page on Instagram and headed to their website to see their menu. We placed our order through WhatsApp (never again - exceptionally slow and awkward interaction. Whoever was on the other end kept on referring to me by my first name). For mains we got the Curry Goat & Brown Stew Oxtail (N7200) and the Jerk Chicken & Brown Stew Oxtail (N7000) (both came with rice & peas and plantain). We also got the Beef Patties and Coco Bread. Delivery took just over an hour. As you can see from the pictures, the portions (aside from the rice) are exceptionally small. The rice itself was overcooked and broke easily. The sauces were watery but had flavour. They weren’t nearly enough for the amount of rice and plantain. The jerk chicken was so small - such a let down especially for the price of the meal. The Beef Patties were flavourful but I’ve had better. The Coco bread didn’t add anything so will skip next time. Seeing such great reviews online has me confused. I think it might be better to order and eat at the restaurant and not order for delivery.
